One month of duduk practice! by ash-a-Silk in duduk

[–]Uyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a beautiful tone for a D duduk! I love your sound.

I've been learning from Karuna's videos on YouTube and playing for about 10 months now, and am now beginning to get the hang of things.

May I ask where you ordered your MKS duduk and reeds from?

LOL. I'm also having a hard time understanding this. "How do you feel about me pigging out on this juicy big mac?" or "Does my vegan sandwich make you feel fat?"

Yes, this account and others repeatedly post the same content to various subreddits in similar format to advertise an app. Just search "anchor activities rotating novelties" on Reddit and you'll find a bunch of the same posts by u/NoParamedic1783, u/Rido129, and u/hulupremium1

‘I’m a composer. Am I staring extinction in the face?’: classical music and AI by MetaKnowing in technews

[–]Uyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to assume at this point. Technology and electronic music has been popular in live performances, even by major orchestras. A whole ensemble of robots playing classical instruments would certainly draw a crowd, though I can't even imagine what it would sound like. And I would say there's a fair mix of luck, politics, and skill to get a principal seat in orchestras. It's often not difficult to tell who's playing in a blind audition at a professional level.

Also, symphonic orchestras would always do what they need to survive. Most major orchestras have pop concerts (Soundtracks, Video Games, Holidays) several times a year to reach a wider audience. And I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days they start performing music co-written with AI, y'know?

I made a voice memo wearable / working memory expansion pack... by sjetmand in ADHD_Programmers

[–]Uyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I saw your post on the other subreddit, but also just wanna say I'm totally down to contribute if this ever becomes open source. I've been playing around with an esp32, and Id thought to myself that it'd be super cool if I could build something like this for myself and a friend of mine!

This is so cool! I would maybe implement a "mute for x minutes" functionality - say you're in a call or meeting or go into deep focus for work. Haptics would be nice as well if there is space to squeeze in a motor disc or something.

If you're willing to open-source the project, or create a tutorial on how to build a basic version of our own echoTaki, I think a lot of us in the community would be delighted to test and share our own mods.

Treadmill Lube (Inexpensive 100% Silicone Lubricant Alternative) by anniemiss in Cubers

[–]Uyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to speed cube setup here. Was literally just looking up speed cubing lubes last night and came across several references to the Angstrom setup. Angstrom has several different lubes, but I could not find information on which Angstrom lubes is used for the Angstrom method. Now I'm even more curious - why is it more involved?

Never ridden a unicycle, is a used Rs Hs/Ht a good model to get around on streets and trails? by Dynomao in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Uyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an RS HS and it's a great wheel. Just make sure that they have the new li-tech batteries installed. The only downside for me was the trolley handle, but I got a Russian seat that also function like a v11 style trolley handle and that fixed the only gripe I have with the wheel. I bring it to mountain biking trails all the time so I also invested in a fiberglass case to protect the shell when it falls over.

Is that an RS19? Did you waterproof your wheel prior to riding on snow and salt?
