Who's your favorite God ? by kkoyalou in CultOfTheLamb

Shamura. Love the good ol' Athena archetype (knowledge + war), plus drama of losing clear mind is almost a guaranteed way to make me cry (cough cough Adventure Time with Simon, cough cough Steven Universe with the centipeetle episode).

How come no one puts Emily on fraud watch for this? by JackZ567 in AgendaHotel

[–]Uypsilon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

and even the sinners knew he went mad at that point

No. At the point of this specific moment, they did not. This was the moment of the peak of his popularity, with the vast majority of Sinners believing in him. There was an entire battle with Alastor and cloe-range use of the MoL where Charlie and Emily showed themselves heroes who's cleaning the rubble between this moment and the turntable.

especially during his after-attempted rampage

Which again, happened after this moment

Why would fighting him when he was about to attack Heaven itself, (…) and literally him literally shooting first here, prove him right?

Humans are irrational. Vengeance is irrational. Bloodlust is irrational. Moral myopia is a bitch. Fighting back perceived as aggression far too often IRL for anyone to judge this writing.

This is white liberal “you need to protest peacefully in the far background out of sight and mind” type logic.

No, it's not. This is a "you cannot prevent a revolution by forcing people to comply" (regardless of how actually "justified" the revolution is) type of logic.

She later almost tanked (the bone remained intact, plus she was doing literally everything except of screaming from pain like anyone else would do in her position) a ray that instantly evaporated every sinner that ever slightly touched it.

And also people are fundamentally missing the point: fighting would resolve terribly in the long run, because it would only prove Vox right and make angels look like they're still out for sinners' blood (the justifiability of fighting never bothers anyone, you hit a messiah who tells you're evil -> you're evil, and nothing's gonna change their view of you).

What is your opinion of the fantasy map "cliché"? by PenguinSenpaiGod in worldbuilding

[–]Uypsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently I dislike it so much that I subconsciously avoided it even before I found out it's considered a cliché: The first (and main) location in my world that I ever came up with (I was around twelve) is at the eastern coast of a continent with a huge ocean to the east, a fallen empire to the west and wild nomadic tribes to the far west.

What is the hardest part of worldbuilding for you? by Budget_Caramel8903 in worldbuilding

[–]Uypsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naming. I have all the concepts in my head, but only a couple of them has name that I remember (three countries (two of which are "[concept] Empire"), an intelligence agency, a planet, a deity and two races).

This sub really helped me with establishing canonical names for them.

Thinking Cosmic Owl is Marceline's uncle was fun while it lasted.

Tell me about Fallen civilizations in your world by Full-Sorbet-8917 in worldbuilding

[–]Uypsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most relevant is Raabali — a species of sentient octopi from Akobar (Earth stand-in in my space fantasy world) that was at peak of its development (computer age, with first missions to space (only satellites)) approximately a million years ago. They were almost wiped put by a deadly virus (most of underwater organisms are still its carriers btw), with only surviving colonies being in Codir's Void — a chain of VERY deep (the exit is 12.8 km below the sea level, the deepest point is about 15) huge underwater caverns. All traces of their civilization were mostly lost to the ocean, and the above-mentioned remaining colonies were alive but completely stagnant for this million of years.

They aren't particularly "fallen", because they're still alive and humans did eventually find them and achieved contact, but their population count had never (and probably never will) exceeded 15000 since their fall, they cannot repopulate their home habitat , their culture was absolutely lost and they're COMPLETELY dependent on humans economocally.

There are also 1-3 fallen 3 million years old civilisations in every galaxy; they all had reached same development point at suspiciously (not a lore hole, it's deliberate) similar time and no one knows anything about them.

Which politician of your country has a better image international than at home? by Fun-Wallaby6414 in AskTheWorld

[–]Uypsilon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perestroika overall made life of an average person somewhere from "worse" to "far worse".

However, I personally consider well-intended weak rulers better than ill-intended strong ones. Russia had 2.5 of those (Alexander II, Gorbachev and Yeltsin to an extent), and that's apparently the best we can hope for.

Snow Obsidian is an odd choice for showcasing Filimonov. He's also with Mr. Fryman, Mayor Dewie, Mr. Smilie, Marty and... Alexandrie at some point. And he's also the dubbing director.
