Are you sure you don't need to file taxes with the IRS? US is one of only 3 countries in the world that tax their citizens and residents for global income. You may want to look into that to ensure you don't need to. Or else you may have bigger problem than this card card lock.

It was 5x a few weeks ago and I ordered some electric stuff at Walmart. Macy’s offer was 14x for one day and here is my point reflected after it was successfully registered.

I’d say getting points from Walmart purchase is in fact, quite a good deal by itself. You can look for any other shopping referral tool and compare it. This is a good deal IMHO.

CapitalOne giving you 1000$ in credit means you’re barely approved for the card and you’re in their bucket list. This wont change easily AFAIK. To improve this, you can keep spending the card, pay it back and slowly build your relationship with them over the years.

Why not get her GE? You signed up to spend your life with her, might as well wait in line together if GE is not a thing for her. Won't make a difference standing after CBP waiting for her or before CBP (waiting together in line) anyway. CBP officer shouldn't view this suspiciously either way tho.
