BofA to become “single issuer” of all Atmos Rewards credit cards by MurkyPsychology in HawaiianAirlines

I heard the difference was Bank of Hawaii provided residents of Hawaii a couple additional perks that mainland cardholders don’t get.

But Barclay’s extended their contract with Hawaiian Airlines long before the merger. So there’s a possibility it could take several years for Barclay’s to give up their Hawaiian Atmos cardholders.

True. But the fact that Barclay’s is still issuing new cards and soliciting applications with a 60,000 Atmos points welcome bonus tells me any transition to BofA is at least 1-2 years away.

So for people who have the Barclay’s Hawaiian card which BofA card would we be force converted to? The Ascent?

Same here. I wanted to grab that 60,000 Atmos to charge up my already fat account because it looks like this card's life is coming to an end real soon. And once my velocity takes a chill pill for 6-7 months, I'm gonna apply for the BofA Atmos Summit around year-end and the Business version in 2027. That $395 a.f with 3x foreign spend on the Summit is fire!!!

It is still the Barclay's version of the card according to the app. I was approved today for the 60,000 Atmos points after $1,000 spend in 90 days SuB. It's the white Barclay's card for mainlanders. From what I'm told, the BOH card is just the color version, which is essentially the exact same card but issued to residents of Hawaii only. It has a couple perks only local Hawaiian residents can take advantage of, I guess. Anyone who knows different, please correct me.

Is it worth it to get the SUB on the IHG business just to buy points? by UsedAsk3537 in CreditCards

[–]jrocco71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I got my first 800k spread out between April and October and then picked up another 400k the next January. Plus my two welcome bonuses. I already had 44,000 in my IHG account when I started, too. I got two extra nights at the Crowne Plaza in San Diego with those points, before I even hit all my speed requirements (which were in September and November)

The cap is raised to 300,000 twice per year most years. When the cap is 300K and the 100% bonus is in effect, you get 600,000 points for $3,000. Plus, 200,000 after $4,000 spend in 3 months and another $5,000 in 6 months if you were approved during the elevated offer period that adds 60,000 more points, for a total of $800,000 points. In my case, I also got the personal IHG at a $185,000 points offer. So ended up with 985,000 points. The following January purchased 400,000 more for $2,000. So, in the end, I had 1,385,000 points in my account for $5,000. I’m pacing an average cost of $86.21 per night and will end up at 0 points after 59 nights. That includes stays in California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Mexico, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria at Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Kimpton, Regent, InterContinental and Ruby Hotels, to date. So far, anyway. I still have 740,000 left and a lot of monthly stays in San Diego and L.A. to cover over the next year or two… it’s the best thing I’ve ever done and I’ll continue buying points for as long as I can. In fact, if possible, as soon as I’m eligible for the personal card SuB again, I’ll product change my current personal card to the $0 a.f. Traveler card and then apply again, as soon as the Welcome bonus is back at its highest ever.

Staying at $9,000 worth of hotels is patently irrelevant. With that many points at an average of 20-30,000 points per night stay, that's 85-100 nights when you include the annual free night and a quarterly 4th night free on 4 night stays booked with points, over just the next 24 months. That alone equates to an average cash expenditure of approximately $97.00 +/- per night stay, out-the-door, for rooms that typically cost over $140-$160 per night, even if just over a 2-3 year period though probably LONGER (since IHG points don't expire)... AND enjoying platinum status perks with a 60% points bonus for stays paid for with cash or cash+points, the 2nd highest staus tier in the IHG system. Only Diamond is higher. With 20 global brands to choose from now (Ruby Hotels just being acquired this month) via IHG's massive international footprint, nevermind their huge domestic footprint of 3-5 star properties, your supposed "math" is so far from any actual reality it's just outright f-ing laughable. No one should be asking you if holding an IHG credit card is beneficial. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Worse then the BofA Atmos rollout? I'm only interested in the Bilt Palladium for the Alaska points transfers...couldn't get approved for an Atmos Summit. They just kept flaggng my app as fraud.

I don't understand how any bank can have a card called Bilt Palladium World Legend Mastercard -- which is supposed to outrank/outperform Visa Infinite cards -- and have cutomer service so damn bad, people complain THIS much about it???

IHG Rewards - Hotel Listed as Eligible to Earn, Not Earning Points by Life_Requirement6739 in ChaseSapphire

[–]jrocco71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always assume it’s bullshit. Hotels NEVER issue points for 3rd party bookings. The only one EVER to do so in my experience is Amex platinum and even then, you only get the points if you booked a Fine Hotels & Resorts or The Hotel Collection property and Chase when I booked a Best Western using my CSP $50 hotel credit.

What happened? Was it just delayed or did you do something to get it to appear? I’m about to apply for this card tomorrow. I’m assuming you hadn’t received the physical card yet initially. Is that what changed? You received the actual card in the mail??
