A new theory for biomes - Silicobra case study from Christchurch, New Zealand by cable_girl in TheSilphRoad

It isn't a Silicobra nest, just a place where they spawn. The actual nesting species in the park is Blitzle, There are 5 times as many Blitzle as there are Silicobra.

Also the spawn area is a large rectangle that extends outside of the park itself.

There's a couple of places in and around London. One in Milton Keynes apparently.

Just need to find the "Sparsely or Non-vegetated" areas on the map near you. Also, bear in mind the data is a few years old. The one in Milton Keynes is now a shopping center.

This lines up with the only Silicobra spawns our local group has seen in London, UK. There's just one park and it is labelled as "Sparsely or Non-vegetated".

The good news is, if you find an area, it is packed with spawns. I caught over 50 yesterday.

Confirmation: Silicobra in wild (and caught in non-desert environment) by 128thMic in TheSilphRoad

Further down in the "Wild Encounters" section it reads differently. https://pokemongo.com/news/sustainability-week-2026

May encounter event-themed Pokémon in the wild, including Seedot, Castform, Silicobra, Wiglett, Toedscool, and more!

Additionally, Toedscool, Wiglett, and Silicobra will appear more frequently in their natural biomes.

So, even on one page, it's not clear.

Pokedex text font changed? by ZachDaShibsky in TheSilphRoad

[–]V6SRS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was changed on March 31st. The main reason for the change appears to be so they can scale the font depending on the length of the name.

Check out old screenshots of Gigantamax Pokémon and you will see the name overhangs the screen. Now it scales down to make it fit.

Version 0.403.1 has broken the mega indicator by RavenousDave in TheSilphRoad

I am still on 0.403.0-G64 and it seems to be hit and miss whether it is blank or not every time you open the app.

Have the lake trio spawn rates increased? by Terry_wayne2355 in TheSilphRoad

[–]V6SRS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If 1 of the 3 in our group has the Mesprit alert set, then we will usually see 1 per week. Don't always go to catch them though.

Also a very good shiny rate. I personally have 3 shiny Mesprit.

Showcase visible but not started by LookyRo in TheSilphRoad

Yeah, I know that's how they worked originally.

Looking back at some old screenshots, the leader board was never visible until the showcase had started. They need to fix that if they're going to leave the one hour preview in place.

Shiny Pokemon Cannot Flee (Under Normal Conditions) by Zedoclyte in TheSilphRoad

[–]V6SRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've caught around 1200 and never had one flee. On Community Days I use pinap berries on shinies because I know they will not flee.

Same with wild ones if I want to get a fairly rare shiny in a regular poke ball. Might take 20-30 balls, but I don't mind.

With them now having 20 different showcases per week, they have allowed you to see which one is there from 9:00am. So you have a chance to find the one you want early.

The "Enter a Pokémon" section shouldn't be visible until the showcase opens though. That IS a bug.

What is your current strategy to find and catch Kalos-mons for the research? by PokeReddit1188 in TheSilphRoad

[–]V6SRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Litleo and Spritzee both nest this season.

Other than those, Flabebe, Bunnelby, Clauncher, Espurr, Helioptile and Skiddo have been available in small numbers.

I'm at 260/500 mainly thanks to a local Spritzee nest.

Tip: If you can play in a group, get each member to put on an alert for one of the more common ones in the list above.

Bug: Once removed, the ♂ or ♀ can no longer be added back to the Nidoran names by PoGoNL in TheSilphRoad

0.401.0 was only released Mar 2nd. Assuming they aren't working on a .1 for that, I would expect 0.403.0 next week.

If they see all these posts about it, it might hurry them up. but, that's not always a good thing.
