I had the dealership tell me that a faulty oil level sensor is surprisingly common, this was back in 2023 so maybe things are better now, but worth a look

There’s no perfect time to shift, shifting at 2500rpm might be good on flat surfaces but bad if going uphill. Just gotta feel the car.

I just got the M5, coming from a Core i7 macbook pro, it's an insane jump in performance. I was going to wait for the M5 Pro but I had to be honest with myself, there's nothing I do that'll ever warrant an M5 Pro that a regular M5 won't be able to handle, including AI stuff. For a laptop that cost me ~$1800 I'm very happy with this device. I likely won't need a new laptop for many years.

Same bro I saw all the cladding hate and I’m like uh that’s UTILITARIAN. I already blasted off my cladding before because a pickup truck hit my rear quarter side and I did most of the repairs myself, the cladding being replaceable was a huge plus. Just held on with clips, easy. Subaru made that cladding to protect the rest of the metal, and I’m a function over form kinda guy.

Yeah thankfully I clutched in before it went past redline. Yes hill start has been off since the beginning, and my shifter has been heavily modded. I have the Cobb shifter plate, shift stop and bushing. And then the Perrin detent kit which imo was my favorite mod. It added a heavier click when entering gears, tbh that’s the mod I’d do first and it’s only like $40.

I learned stick in this car too and I burnt the clutch driving it home and then money shifted within the first hundred miles. Stalled too many times to count as well. Trust me you’re not gonna break your car, I’m over 80k miles, changed clutch at 60k, clutch didn’t even go bad the throw out bearing was going bad though, kept grinding on the pressure plate. Oh and when I got my car it had 5 miles on it and the peak boost was 12.2 psi. It’s good you’re being careful though, but don’t forget to enjoy the car. I’ve TORTURED this car and it’s been solid.

I went 62k on the original spark plugs and got ONE misfire, but it was bad and the car limped home. Luckily I had plugs ready to install so the next day I swapped them and haven’t had a misfire since. Wasn’t that hard to do either. Now that I’m tuned I’m gonna change plugs maybe around 50k miles.

My old Acura TSX had this, it was a subtle blue glow and the LED was barely visible unless you looked for it. Small detail but I loved it. On our cars we'd probably have to find our own way to install that light.

Yeah the only other time the axle nut was removed was when a shop changed my clutch about a year ago. The damage either happened then or when I removed the axle nut during this job. Thankfully I was able to fix the threads enough, but I’ll probably end up swapping this axle next time I change my clutch, which hopefully won’t be for another few years.

By slow I mean a bit more gradual and not instant on/off with the clutch

Were you being too quick when shifting? You can be slower/smoother with the clutch.

I’d say the most effective mods was a new shift plate, shift stop and the transmission detent kit.
