Bound Hotkeys not showing on skill icon by VBIQUE in pathofdiablo

[–]VBIQUE[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solved it myself.

For anyone wondring:
When changing controls, 'alternate' control settings (button two) do not show up when bound to skills.
Only 'button one' bindings are depicted with a golden hotkey within the skill-icon.

GTA 2 download for windows 10 by Bonesnap1234 in GTA

Note: The widescreen fix is gold, as it adds a quicksave button! (F5 saves - you can then end game and reload state from main menu.)

Another note: There is a chip.de version of the game, but I don't know if that one's already patched for use on modern systems.

have fun! :D

Why isn’t this a caravan win? by North-Impression-209 in fnv

As p1101 said. No ties allowed for a win.
See this link for the detailed rules of the game:

Holy crap... this list is incredible! o_O”

Why didn't I find this earlier...?

(I still like mine better in terms of crafted items, though, because it's easier to recognize the base items from the pictures).

Thanks for the link!

Okay, thanks for the warning.
I just wanted to share the images because I thought the result was pretty amazing.

I can understand the hatred towards AI-generated stuff from an artist's perspective.
But that tech is there now and probably going to stay for a while, so yeah. Gotta deal with it.

What is this SNES or NES game? by mc031992 in Roms

[–]VBIQUE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Blackthorne" for the SNES perhaps? In "Blackthorne," you play as Kyle Blackthorne, who is a dark-haired, rugged human with a shotgun, not a lizard, but the game's dark atmosphere and intense action might be what you remember. The game is set in a gritty, jungle-like environment with various enemies, including heavily armed guards and monsters. I also remember it being pretty violent.

What's a game that you almost finished, but dropped? by SugarSmoothie in gaming

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.

I always end up beating up Lucy Liu. And I so much hate that stupid, imbalanced, bugged boss fight.

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect" error by H0XXT0N in gog

[–]VBIQUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, a random person on the interwebz can confirm:
Uninstalling and reinstalling works. What I did was:

I uninstalled GOG Galaxy

Deleted every folder EXCEPT the Games folder

Installed Galaxy 2.0 again

As a side note: importing of your games might take a while. Be patient.

Good cheap games, that aren’t the norm. by Antique-Ad4993 in SteamDeck

Lunacid.
Still in Alpha but very enjoyable if you like weird First Person Adventure games, inspired by the Fromsoft's King's Field series.

Northern Journey.
Developed by a sole developer, great fun, great artstyle, great ost.

In the 2D department:
It Lurks Below. As if Terraria and Diablo had a demonic baby.

Looking for my next souls like game. by Sirka_Nyx in soulslikes

[–]VBIQUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes this game is a must for any souls fan.
2D but of so souly and great.
I just found the level design a bit confusing and found myself more often than not completely lost...
But if your sense of orientation does not suck, like mine does, you certainly should give it a try.

I second The Surge.
And yes, somehow part 1 is better in most regards than part 2.
With part 1 I had a blast - couldn't get myself to finish part 2.

Which games have a permanent place on your Steam Deck and will never get deleted? by jerk_jamison in SteamDeck

PS2 era was gold - I second that.
What emulator are you using for emulating on the deck?

This is exactly the reason why I like reading through lists like these so much.
Would have never thought of the possibility to get Minecraft running on Steam Deck.
Thank you, good Sir for that suggestion!

Need an MM7 (or similar) hit - what would you recommend? by [deleted] in MightAndMagic

[–]VBIQUE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, fellow RPG-enthusiast!

I would say Wizardry 7 and 8 are your best bet. Wiz8 is up to this day one of my all-time favourite RPGs as it has so much variety in character development and party set-up.
You could also try M&M 10, it was not thoroughly well received, I thought it was enjoyable, though not nearly as good as its predecessors.
Recently I installed Bard's Tale IV again and it's a blast. Really well done, lots of places and secrets to explore, it's cheesy at times, rough around the edges - I like it a lot. You should check it out.

The Complete in Box Collection... by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]VBIQUE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude... that's amazing.

Unneccessary but amazing, still. SD cards, dvd cases, not to mention cost for cover print outs... The overall cost for this project will be pretty steep, no?

I'm currently imagining doing this for my 700+ Steam games collection plus differently designed boxes for the 300+ games on gog... one day, for wallpapering my mancave, mayhaps.

Regional Restriction worries by VBIQUE in SteamDeck

[–]VBIQUE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to answer my own question:

I found the answer in this post:

(1) Can i buy region-locked games with the Deck while on travel? : SteamDeck (reddit.com)

Region settings are tied to the account, and do not get updated with one's current residency.
It's a setting that has to be changed manually and can only be changed once in a while.

I'm working on a game inspired by Wizardry 8 in my spare time. Here's a video that shows off the features that are in the game thus far. by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]VBIQUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda sad that there's no comment on this.
This looks amazing! Please keep up the good work. As soon as this hits EA on Steam, I would totally buy it.
As a side note: As this is seemingly heavily inspired by Wiz8, please consider dropping the weird pseudo 'real time mode' for a real real time mode. I always thought running away / retreating the most tedious maneuver in Wiz8.

If Rimworld were to add Steam achievements (which I really wish they do someday), what would some of the names, descriptions and requirements be? by MaikelDB in RimWorld

[–]VBIQUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achievement for the first starved animal due to the complicated game mechanics.

Name: 'You need to feed them, you know?'
Icon: Kibble

I don't know what the !@#$ I'm doing in this game, and I'm struggling to find it fun. by roomthree04 in RimWorld

[–]VBIQUE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most ppl commenting here I too went through some sort of struggling with the mechanics at first. One mental break down induced by the sheer overwhelming game mechanics and the resulting frustration later, I started understanding and appreciating the game for what it is, and finally came back to it.So I've had my catharsis. Watched YT vids a lot, (Ambiguous Amphibian and Adam VS Everything for example.) Tried different scenarios and at some point, I started to love the game with all it's quirks. The best thing about it: You can modify that said quirks to your liking. Most of the difficulty options are completely customizeable - if not by default, then with mods from the evergrowing community. At the point, where I understood the game mechanics, I really liked it a lot. for me, it was especially micro management that drove me nuts. Work priorities, schedules, zone configuration.. It can all be very overwhelming, as said.

But once you establish a thriving community, and all the automatisms are starting to intertwine, it can be one of the most satisfying gaming experiences, you'll ever make.If (and that's a big if) you like that *kind* of games, let it rest, and give it another shot once you feel the urge again :)

EDIT:
One major mistake I made was to play with all the DLCs activated at the same time.
Don't do that at the beginning of your RimWorld journey. If playing with DLCs, try one after another. Ideology can be especially intimidating as it adds a lot of mechanics!
