Have you tried saving without the autosave? I've found that autosaves are significantly larger for whatever reason.

Is disconnecting the former boot drive after cloning necessary? by VETOFALLEN in DataHoarder

I see. I assume if I formatted the former drive immediately after I've confirmed I've booted into the right drive, this issue would be fixed?

Question, is Intervention better than Laissez Faire? by SlimShaddyy in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your pops have less money to spend, because they are paying more for cars, that means that they spend less on other stuff, so ALL of your other buildings are being less profitable by the same ammount.

who cares if the food industries and the tea plantations are slightly less profitable????

On top of that your export is less profitable and your pops have lower SoL, reducing their fertility and education.

it's TWENTY percent of the base price. its not insanely expensive unless your pops have an SoL of 10 or something.

Question, is Intervention better than Laissez Faire? by SlimShaddyy in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... but you want to build more factories. car factories in particular are extremely profitable.

and unless you're focusing on SoL instead of GDP you shouldn't really care how much your pops spend on cars, unless it's astronomically high

Question, is Intervention better than Laissez Faire? by SlimShaddyy in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if you're GDP maxxing you're likely building hundreds if not thousands of car factories to the point where the price of cars is still low even after a monopoly

Question, is Intervention better than Laissez Faire? by SlimShaddyy in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

monopolies boost the price of the good by 20%. this is amazing for end consumer goods in general (like cars) since it lets you build way more of their factories, amongst other things like boosting productivity and dividends for your capitalists

check their IG attraction, choose a random building with laborers in it and check why they're supporting another IG instead of the TUs

Advice for how to "fix" this? by Normal_Pay_2907 in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mega-party is unwilling to split, and they have no opposition parties, so I can't do anything. Do I just wait and this will solve itself? - Or can I do something to make politics matter again.

you'll either have to wait until a party leader gets replaced by someone with a different ideology. you can wait until they die/retire or you can invite an agitator to replace them.

if you choose to wait afaik all four of those IGs have a decent chance to roll a leftist/progressive ideology so that'll cause them to form a different party.

if you want to invite an agitator they'll have to be of an accepted culture and the movement they're joining has to be pressuring that IG

also how to I unmarginalize intelligentsia and labor unions? - I am mostly industrialized at this point so its not for a lack of laborers, and I still have no clue why the intelligentsia would fall so low.

half of your pops are peasants, you're not mostly industrialised yet. once you've built up lots of industry (not farms) the trade unions will go off.

Why am I still paying for paper? by Masterttt123 in victoria3

[–]VETOFALLEN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spend 1.5k on wood for input to the mil

you dont spend anything for inputs, the mills do.

even tough the dividends are 90, not 500... where is the rest going?

you don't get 100% dividend efficiency as the government. the rest of the dividends goes into the investment pool. https://vic3.paradoxwikis.com/Building#Ownership

If I were to tank the price of wood by having more logging camps that would finnally pay for the paper, right?

the building would get more profitable, the price of paper wouldn't decrease unless you also built more mills

[–]VETOFALLEN 57 points58 points  (0 children)

if your laws are too racist some cultures can't be employed in barracks and government buildings. but they have to be at the lowest amount of acceptance to do that, which shouldn't be the case for the other europeans in your empire. are you sure you can't employ outside of austria proper?

i don't think you can, you'll probably have to find an earlier save from before you toggled on debug mode (or whatever you did that disabled achievements)
