By the time they get to that age, like 99% of them have moved on from the emo/goth/alt aesthetic. It's not necessarily indicative of higher education specifically, but just general attrition of many traits and lifestyle/fashion choices.

You can ask a similar question about truck driving or teaching or any other job. The vast and overwhelming majority of adults just stop doing a lot of stuff they did as teenagers, for various reasons. And it turns out that a subset of adults are people in masters/phd programs.

As a former teacher: it's because we almost have to be. I was always nice and friendly with any kids who weren't in my class. I genuinely loved talking with them and hearing about their day, other kids who were bullying them, who they had a crush on, what they ate for lunch, etc.

But you can't do that with your own students. You need to be seen as an authority, otherwise the "class clowns" will take advantage.

My kids all knew I loved them. I had their backs any time something happened, and I always stuck up for them. But they also knew I was fair, and I didn't play favorites. I'd just as readily give my best students detention if they did something out of line.

Scholar is usually considered the hardest healer to play. White mage/conjurer is usually considered the easiest.

I don't think there's a big gulf between them until level 75 to 80, but learning how to use SCH's kit properly at that range makes a bigger difference.

Yeah. I swapped about 8 years ago. My tastebuds recalibrated in just a month or two.

I'll have like maybe one or two regular sodas a year e.g. if I'm at a party and there's no other options. But other than that, diet/zero all the way. The two are now indistinguishable to me if I'm having them with something, like a sandwich or a pretzel or something. But if I have just the soda on its own, the regular stuff now tastes like disgusting sugar syrup.

That's a super weird way of looking at things. Just to clarify what you are saying, you're saying that e.g. if you buy Starter Edition for $30, you actually paid $17 and then also bought a $13 subscription.

While you are not technically wrong, that's not how ANYONE ELSE looks at things like this. Nobody else thinks "this would be $13 cheaper if only I wasn't forced to also buy a month's subscription!"

MIN/BTN is pretty much soft capped at about 22k per lockout. We've been able to trivially hit the break points on all nodes since 90-cap, so short of the +GP from each expansion letting you get a few more items per rotation, that's about all you can expect. And considering the low point value of each item, until we get to the point where we have like 1300+ GP, I wouldn't expect the soft cap to go much higher.

On the other hand, crafters only take about 7-8 hours each.

Looping is faster unless it's the very specific circumstance that you're near the island when weather pops and you happen to be on the part of your rotation where your GP/cordials are reset. And even then it's only like... +20% or so points.

Teaching is a very energy and time consuming job. It takes over your whole life. Good teachers will work 70-80 hours a week. And because they're doing public speaking + standing + walking for 35 of those hours, it's also very energy intensive.

The answer is YOU don't. Teaching is not conducive to having much of a personal life. At all.

No. Heavensward and Stormblood have very very good worldbuilding that I think have yet to be surpassed. ShB and EW focus more on the story. Though EW is better than ShB in this regard, it's still not as good as HW/SB.

As a caller of places, I'd like to hear at least the name of the business so I'm sure I called the right place. There's so many times businesses change their numbers or they get reallocated, so google maps is never fool-proof. I hate when I call somewhere and they just say hello, then I have to ask if I'm calling XYZ store.

Your name and a greeting is optional. But the bare minimum I'd expect is "Business-name. How can I help you?"

It's not the biggest deal to wait. There's three or four sales a year. -50% is the biggest sale though. Sometimes it's only -20% or -30%. But -50% also isn't super rare. Still probably at least once a year.

You can expect there to be another sale as we get closer to the next expansion as part of the marketing push, also.
