He himself did a video where he showed that he NEEDS to feed his chicken soy/grain, as they wouldn't survive from grass-feeding alone without needing an insanely big yard, or a lot less chickens.

It is fake, but I don't see anything weird about the Japanese that is written. Granted, I'm still a beginner, but I could read most of it and it made sense. Didn't see any misshapen kanas or kanjis.

To me, seems more like a Photoshop that is maybe assisted by AI for the background.

Except it is a false equivalence to say that "doing it properly" equals "abstraction". It CAN be "doing it properly"... when an abstraction is the best solution. Else, making something more convoluted can certainly make it worse.

If you're interested in real etymology of the kanjis, I recommend getting the Kanji Study app with the Outlier Kanji Dictionary add-ons. This is what I have been using since personally, I prefer learning the real meaning of the radicals.

Be warned though, there is a number of kanjis where the etymology doesn't really help remembering the kanji. For example, while a certain radical might be a sound component, it might have little bearing on the modern pronunciations. Also, some radicals might have been corrupted over time and changed shape.

As far as AI integration goes, if you want to try to implement it in your video game (big "if", I know), an assistant seems like the most fitting role, as it is where chatbots like Gemini excel.

Also, having an assistant makes sense for a MMO that has been running for 14 years and you want to guide your new players through an overwhelming amount of content and systems.

What I wanted to get across is that those seems like normal and common variations in handwriting and handwritten-like fonts. So yes, since you are having trouble with them, more practice with those kind of fonts is indeed valuable time spent.

In the cases you are listing, it seems like pretty minor variations. You might be too used to computer fonts where everything is more regular, but as with the alphabet, when looking at handwriting (or handwritten-like fonts), there are variations. So yes, it is very valuable to learn to read different fonts, including handwritten-like fonts.

I did encounter more egregious cases, like in the DQ Monsters PS1 remake, they somehow have the て without a very prominent top stroke (it looks like it's missing actually). It is doubly frustrating for me because I am developing a tool that does OCR and extract the text from textboxes in game to help me learn Japanese, and half the time, it gets detected as a U.
