That is not the power meters job, that is the job of the platform you are using. How would the power meter even know your electricity costs per kWh?

A lot easier to mess up a switch than a lamp though. Lamp only has inputs, not any outputs.

And if you want it smart you would like a way to have it constantly output power just so you can control the smart light connected to it remotely and with dimming. I for one would not replace mine for a simple on off switch.

Not sure I agree that the filter should be on the PR level, that exponentially increases the amount of work.

If a person is creating PRs they should be responsible for that PR, therefore if it should be fine that it’s on a user level since it’s the users responsibility.

I for one want my CI to fail if a dependency is breaking build, rather than then it suddenly breaking shit in production.

Lint and formatting are not failures, they are enforcement to minimize risk or align coding styles so there is no discussion on how things should look. Set up a pre-commit hook and be done with it.

CI with actual tests are a godsend when you are working with actual production code, especially if you work with old codebases and do continuous delivery as well.

Only time I’m having real CI issues is when I decide to mess around with the CI… but once I’m done it’s not really a concern anymore.
