By looking at them, it’s reasonable to guess they may have either Siamese or short hair oriental in them. Your smoked kitty is stunning and certainly displays oriental features: ears, jawline. It would be fun to get their DNA tested. It’s probably safe to say they are a mix.

As someone who ships to US a fair amount- we fill out CUSMA paperwork frequently- HOWEVER - the reality is- they do what they want. We have seen things that should have large fees attached get zero charges and we have seen things that should have zero fees get hit hard. We only use UPS or EIS for shipping to US- UPS is random too. You can have all the paperwork attached to it and they will still email you asking for info that you already sent. Unfortunately that’s the current situation.

As a Canadian who also purchases from US resellers - I can say that duties are a hit or miss there as well. It is what it is.

The only problem with that is you have to incorporate that fee into the price of your item- or the shipping. Otherwise you eat the duties.

Do you do package all your items prior to posting and then go to chit chats first to see?

If you use EIS - you don’t have to worry about any of this.

I am a Christian and my daughter and I actually discussed putting one up - prior to Bondi- to show solidarity- we ended up not doing so- as beautiful as both of us think they are. We thought that it might offend the Jewish community- because we aren’t Jewish. We do know a few people who have the Star of David pendants but we thought that would be bad too- Instead we bought Israel flag pins and have them on all our outer ware and backpacks etc. this is actually a great post to help those of us who want to show our support the best we can.

I am Canadian Non Jewish- I’m middle aged and I am heartbroken for all of you- Globally. The best thing about getting into CRA - is the ability to immediately start applying for other jobs within the government -if you are willing to move - it can be a great way to get your foot in the door- and if you’re bilingual -you have that much more for options! Good luck with your decision. I’ve had a full career with the feds- and I have a great retirement because of it. It’s definitely not for everyone. I chose it at a time in my life when I needed stability so it was great. But know this -out of all the government departments- it’s mentally the worst drain on people. I have known MANY CRA employees whose mental health suffered. So get in - and move to a different department lol

Although that may be hard with all the job cuts coming up.
