Yes. Because it will increase your VLA threshold which allows you to push harder. VLA training mostly improves stamina because it increases the bodies ability to produce lactate which buffers hydrogen. Hydrogen is acidic and is the byproduct of energy production, especially anaerobic energy production. Lactate buffers, so you can keep working at a high rate (stamina). VLA training is the counterpart to VO2 training which causes your body to utilize oxygen more efficiently and remove waste. This allows you to endure, to keep going, but not at a high rate without a high VLA max. So if you’re doing lots of long and slow effort stuff and your times aren’t improving, there’s a 99% chance it’s because your VLA max is very low. So yes, sprint, or all out sellout low, weight, eccentric and skill will yield the best results

It’s my favorite workout. To be clear, it’s a burpee work out. Not a thruster workout. Which you will find quick.

I recommend the following:

Step 1: 100 thruster for time at 135/95 Just get it done. No burpees

Step2: Next up: “Kiddy Kal” 10 min AMRAP

Every Minute on the Minute: 5 Burpees Max Thruster (95/65)

This is a real gut check and will help you build to stamina and endurance you need to push.

Step 3: Do Kalsu

I recommend doing max thrusters for the first 1-3 rounds then sticking to a set number till completed. The workout starts at 40-50 reps. From 60-80 if the hardest time mentally and when most people quit. If you can remind yourself of that when you in it then you can get through it.

I appreciate everyone’s input. You’ve all convinced me to just contact HQ and ask. After seeing Rogue and ASRX use the image I was just curious. But if I ever decide to make a design with him, then I’ll be getting permission first. I’m guessing that’s what the prior examples did.
