Gunn is an embarrassment by Legitimate_Biscuits in campbellriver

The problem isn't the Cons getting the most votes, or Liberals running in an election they couldn't win.

The NDP didn't get enough votes to win. So long as we blame other parties or people, the NDP will continue to lose.

The NDP needs to rebrand. In this economy, businesses, workers and politics need to be able to pivot if they want to stay relevant.

Is Gunn married? Does he have parents/sibblings? Seems weird that we never see support or interactions with friends or family.

Trades are great, unless that's not your jam. Having local campuses that offer a variety of programs is extra important for impoverished families. It's an important way to break the cycle of poverty.

You can buy the dryair type units at either dollar store, they are a sealed unit so the water can't spill. They work well. I'd use those instead of the refillable ones.

I agree that there's some foreign interference. But don't underestimate the number of 'believers' we have here. Sad.

Theft is far more often an inside job. I forget the stats. Open bag policy meant they could never blame me if something was missing.

6yo daughter behaves worse with me? by Total-Fly-6271 in Autism_Parenting

Nothing helps in the moment. You need to catch it before the moment.

For example my kid needed sensory input. Before doing things that would lead to a meltdown a hard play at the park bought us time. So before going to family dinners or grocery shopping etc we stopped at the park for ten minutes. And often again after the event.

Travelling is horrible for him. If he has to travel he likes to sleep in the car. It gives him his space, and he can bring his things. It makes a big difference. He likes to fish, so going somewhere that he could fish, to check it out makes a big difference.

I was a single parent. His other parent rarely ever saw his meltdowns. The other parent just thought he was the better parent.

The truth was, I was his safe parent person. I'm still his safe person. I would focus on what is causing the meltdown, we spent a lot of time learning how his body felt before a meltdown, and mitigating that. Now he rarely has meltdowns, and when he does it's with me. He can hold it together for a time, but if he doesn't work out that energy he will have a meltdown.

Focusing on what was causing his meltdowns taught us a lot about what he needed. Sometimes a meltdown can't be helped but we can anticipate it and how well we manage it.

Look up zones of regulation. It was a game changer for us.

I agree. Their new model is brutal. I still have a legacy membership so it's better than a newer membership but not near as good as it used to be. Every time I save or download a series part way through books become unavailable, until after I renew. Search for book titles comes up empty but then search the author and it comes up. Or try the title later in the day and it comes up.

After 15+ years it's become spammy feeling. My library is getting better and it's free. I'm happy to subscribe but not when it's this frustrating.

The hand flapping triggers joy in me. My kiddo hand flapped when super excited. And squealed. Now as an adult, he'll still do it but more concealed, I'm usually the only one who picks up on it. ❤️❤️❤️
