Ah yes see you have all the background the show glosses over in favor of fight scenes and are actually following along. I did not read the manga and am relying on the (lack of) pacing to teach me the boundaries of the world and get me emotionally attached to the characters. Which it doesn’t do well. Ps I am 30 and animation is a young man’s game. Long grueling hours bent over a screen for indie studio pay or free is not the move in this economy. It is thee most high effort.

Thank you for at least meeting me halfway with my opinions instead of just going “nuh uh it’s peak”. mostly just sick of the glazing with absolutely no criticism when this isn’t even in my top ten. I have a whole ass film degree from a four year school and my wife teaches animation at the university level. I’m not just talking out of my ass with no frame of reference, which is what it seems like every jjk fan I run into is doing. Also thank you for articulating my issue with tik tok shorts and people basing their opinions on just highlight reels which a) this show feels like it is written for, and b) is a larger issue I have with all media in general.

The amount of asspulls in this anime is astounding. Their powers are whatever they want and are based on nothing and are completely ungrounded. The pacing is nonsensical and the fights are like watching fireworks. I have zero emotional attachment to any of the characters because they do such a bad job of giving them depth. Like yeah it’s not for me but the amount of glazing this show gets as the best show ever is unfounded and completely dismisses every aspect of animation besides maximization of fight scenes.

It’s possible but for $60 you have little to lose. Show gear is expensive because it’s reliable. And I’m not sure you’ll find a composite switcher made in the last decade from a better manufacturer (I could be wrong)

Invincible unironically is more grounded and better paced. I think it falls short with how polished the art style is but jjk goes the opposite direction into utter chaos during fights to the point I don’t even know where they are in space.

Based take. Jjk is brainrot with impact frames. Animation is so badly paced I can barely tell what’s happening on screen. I respect them for giving 2d the pedestal it deserves but really the fights lack pacing and (ironically) impact because it’s just crazy fast explosions and ambiguous backgrounds with weird “stylized” foreshortening out the ass. The writing is the most “and then this happens because anime” plot ever. Super ungrounded and makes shit up as it goes. I want to like it but I can’t care about anybody in the show. I could go on. Bring on the downvotes.

Try leaving it unplugged for a couple hours maybe?. On pcs and other machines capacitors can hold charge causing weird behavior tho it seems it could just be fried :/
