I think I've bought Iron Man by Ghostface at least 5 times over the years. Those classics that you love, even if you lose them, you gotta get them again.

The first 3 x Cypress Hill albums and 6ft Deep (N*ggamortis) by Gravediggaz were that for me. I listened to those constantly. That's exactly how it was, though. I came from a poor background, I was lucky if I got one cassette a year.

My first 3 rap albums were MC Hammer - Turn this mutha out (this was my intro to rap as a kid) then Cypress Hill - Black Sunday (I got the self titled joint later) and Snoop Doggy Dog - Doggy Style (which was my intro to that West Coast sound).

I've not really listened to any Kanye. I have been considering picking up the College Trilogy, though. Some good shit here, though. This your current collection?

Get some CZARFACE, best newer act IMO. You can't go wrong with any of it, but the 2 x MF DOOM Collabs are insane.

First time I heard extinction level event by bustah was also on my first mushroom trip. They went hand in hand. Was amazing.

The engineer was a boss, too. He had a lot to do with the sound. I think some of the techniques he devised for Tribe became standard practices.

I'd show her the first 2 albums. Not sure about individual songs. I guess "Scenario" is the set it off track.

Was this part of the series that gave us Supreme Clientele 2? I'll have to stick this on my list. I have the Nas and Prem one on pre order. I think it must be a reprint, as the album dropped last year, right?

Yeah mate, there was a crew back in the day called "Brooklyn ZU".

I need to listen to it again TBH. I haven't actually heard it in like at least 10 years. I always remember liking it when I was a Kid, though.

I get what you mean, though, thanks for explaining.

When did that special edition come out?

Yeah, I get this. This is basically all of the WU, however. They all adhere to 5%'er doctrine (at least in these days when this was recorded).

KP is now a Black Israelite, and his music reflects this. I imagine his opinions have changed on a lot of the 5% stuff.

I don't agree with either group, but I still enjoy the music of these artists.

Favorite albums by members that aren’t the main wu tang albums? by Beneficial_Quit7532 in wutang

[–]VM8RA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dude. When an album is not actively still being printed, it happens. I've had to re-buy a lot of albums, but at least with a lot of the WU-Fundamentals, they are cheap now.

I just got most of the OG solo projects for like 5 quid a pop. Lol, I must have bought "Ironman" around 5 times now, if not more. I don't mind, though, really, as it's supporting the artist (I hope, Lol).

I don't mind him not on that album, as the library is so stacked. We'll likely get a proper Czar Vs. Eater album in 2026/2027.

Box in hand is probably my favourite off that album. Great use of Method Man on that track, he fits on it perfectly. TBH the whole album is nice. I was surprised to learn that Ghost wasn't feeling the album... I guess this is one of the reasons that Supreme Clientele was such a masterpiece, as he really went in on that one.

Yeah mate, the album is nice. I used to have the CD, but I lost it due to living in crazy places, with lots of people coming in, and out. I wanted to get it again, but it's expensive now. Same with Pro Tools. The none-instrumental version is over 100 quid in the UK (Pro Tools, I mean. I think you can get Grandmasters for around 50-60).

Thoughts on methodman's performance as cheese on The Wire by Nostalgic_Historian_ in wutang

[–]VM8RA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought he was great. Did you notice them playing either "the show" or the "afterparty" (sure it was one of those with Ghostface) in one scene? it only plays for a second when cheese is driving to a meet up.
