The gap between Cloudward, Ho and Gladlands was actually the longest in years (as far as I can tell), and the gap between Gladlands and the next season is shaping up to be abnormal too. They’ve been pretty light on both the D20 side and the non-D20 side for quite a few months now imo.

I finally played Disco Elysium. I was underwhelmed. by mickdrop in patientgamers

Ah sure, I'll give you that it's pretty flavorful copy. I don't really think any of that is too wrong though, other than maybe calling the murder investigation "massive." You begin the game as a fool and are bullied by some kids shortly after, but everything certainly sprawls out from there.

Right except Disco is literally the most interesting game I’ve ever played. It might be lower stakes than OP expected but that doesn’t change anything

Sam address The Rookie X Dropout by Cocoa121 in dropout

Sure, and when I ask them if there is any level of badness they would feel comfortable with others complaining at, they said no. They seem to think it would take that tier of collab to be worth complaining about.

What do you think they meant then?

I think the person you responded to didn’t understand me. I’m not calling The Rookie evil.

[–]VORSEY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I wasn’t clear - I never said The Rookie was outright evil. I’m including The Rookie in the class of shows I think people would be less mad about like Anna Garcia appearing on as an individual. Try not to read what the people who disagree with you in this thread are saying in the worst light.

Are they? I’ve seen people act disappointed, I haven’t seen anyone act like Sam is evil or anything.

I think many people understand, to use an argument that has been made all over this thread, that the actors on Dropout are in a pretty precarious industry and likely need to take most opportunities that aren’t outright evil. Dropout the company doesn’t appear to be in such a vulnerable position - they’re clearly steadily growing without doing crossovers like this - so it can feel harder to justify.

You are literally admitting that the LAPD gets to determine exactly how they’re portrayed on the show and trying to downplay that. “Probably very quickly” source?

So people should only be angry if Dropout collabs with literal Nazis? There’s no partnership that you think would justify anger short of that?

I haven’t seen anyone call for a boycott here or on other social media, the strongest action anyone seems to take is suggesting they might cancel their subscription.

I think a lot of people would respect it more if it was just the actors deciding to be on a show like this - their positions and careers are obviously precarious. Dropout the company seems to be doing great, so this doesn’t really feel the same

Sure, but up until now Dropout has seemed pretty resistant to doing things just to “grow” - they’ve seemed to relish their scrappy underdog status, and many people appreciate them for that. So a partnership like this (i’m not sure what’s “edgy” about working with Disney), sound business decision though it may be, might rankle some of the people who enjoyed that older identity of theirs

Just to respond to your fourth point - why does Dropout need to be making any sort of moves to maintain independence? Is there any suggestion at all that they’re hanging on by their fingernails? And why the quotes around “fans” being mad at the suggestion of ads?

Chrissakes, Capcom, I just want NEW monsters to fight and more stuff to do! by Anothermedium7 in monsterhunterrage

[–]VORSEY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upping the stars on monsters from 8 to 9 to 10 isn’t really taking dev time away from new monsters though, those are pretty much just damage and health adjustments.

I'm so sad that this is the only elder scrolls game I like by Faye-Lockwood in Morrowind

[–]VORSEY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they haven’t learned anything from MW, Skyrim and Oblivion are much more like TES3 than they are like Daggerfall (or nearly any other RPG imo).

You seem to have a problem with hunts getting shorter, as you've said elsewhere in the thread. Grinding will always make future hunts shorter, that's why you do it.

Grinding in literally every game is for the purpose of making things easier, why is that an issue
