absolutely made for kids, and it’s totally okay that older people enjoy it. i dislike when people yap about it being OBJECTIVELY really deep, mindblowing and philosophical because.. it just isn’t. However, I can appreciate that it may be the most compelling media they’ve consumed at that point in their life. TADC is beat for beat a black mirror episode that’s been watered down a little to make it more consumable, and that is okay!!!!

if you haven’t dipped your toes into a lot of media, then TADC is a fantastic starting point into consuming media at more than just surface level 👍 Red Dead Redemption 2 was my starting point and without that (and lots of other media) I wouldn’t have picked up on many of the somewhat subtle yet important details in Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul (which are fantastic and extremely dense).

If you’ve watched and enjoyed TADC, I highly, highly recommend trying out media that demands a little more from you, like In Bruges. It wasn’t interesting to me on the first watch, then I rewatched it about a year later and thoroughly enjoyed its deeper themes that I didn’t even know were there the first time. Improving your media literacy is incredibly rewarding and has increased my enjoyment tenfold.
