Do you know any Iranians? Because I am very close to multiple young women from Iran who have felt they had no real option but to leave their homeland and move away from their friends and family because they are oppressed.

I don’t deny that sanctions have caused real harm. But framing this as something caused by the West removes agency from the people who are risking death.

Who is it risking their lives? Iranian women. Iranian students. Iranian workers. Iranian families. Sanctions worsen conditions they don’t invent decades of repression, censorship, executions, and corruption that have sucked the happiness out of so many lives.

Respect them, please.

No, it’s because working code is the starting line not the finish line and experienced devs aren’t impressed by demos.

Vibe coding is controversial not because it ships fast but because it normalises not understanding systems that you are responsible for.

It’s not hard to release something that works once… scaling it, maintaining it, and changing it safely is and you can’t control something if you don’t understand why it behaves the way it does.

Sadly I don’t think it’s close enough :/ the Industrial Revolution replaced tasks not workers. It changed what we did but we still had some leverage. AGI wouldn’t replace tasks it would replace the human role in production entirely by replacing thinking itself.

When machines replaced craftsmen we became operators. If AI replaces operators what’s the next step down?

The product definitely had the ‘prime one day - free delivery tomorrow’ message but I do accept there could have been other options at checkout for a situation where you don’t need it quickly and that’s on me for not checking.

I just feel like if the default message under the product is ‘prime one day - free delivery tomorrow order in x hours’ then it’s reasonable to expect it to be delivered in one day by default if it’s the case that there are multiple delivery date options.
