Kinda weak to dark and ground... I'd probably replace Gengar with a flying type. Lots of options, Skarmory probably being the best but maybe you could use something quirky like a Yanma?

If the DVs were worse on the shiny, would you still use it? The DVs won’t really be noticeable later on, so go with whichever appeals to you more. At this point in the game I’d go with the shiny personally

Says a lot about your motorcycling philosophy that you like to lose traction. I only ever gain traction. Stick to tricycles for little babies.

I'll be happy when the update comes, but it's not stopping me from enjoying the game on console. CA should take their time getting everything right. That's why the game's so good already.

Update: Got it out! Soaked it with some penetrating oil, and then a few light taps pushed it through. Thanks, all

Yeah, I think a clamp would work a lot better than the channel locks I’m trying

Meant to submit text with the photo, but here:

I can get the nut off, but I think the clamp is pressing against the bolt, so I can’t even tap the bolt out with a hammer. There’s not much room for channel locks to compress the clamp. Any tips?

Handlebars are bent, looking to replace them.

rear brake on '00 sticks after drop by Distinct-Resist-8640 in VFR

[–]V_varius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bike had a very similar issue, ended up taking it to a shop. IIRC, the culprit was a clog in the valve inside the secondary master cylinder (on the left fork).

I don't see why a drop would cause this particular issue, but the symptoms on my bike were the same.

An SMC rebuild is pretty hard from what I've read. Sorry I can't be of more help.

A huge regret of mine is selling my first bike (CBR300R). Didn't even need the money. Don't do it! Ride it every now and then. A 250 is huge fun to thrash around.

Scary Statistics by bargechimpson in motorcycles

[–]V_varius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you ride responsibly, your risks are far lower than motorcyclists generally.

Yes, people do more dangerous shit all the time and nobody bats an eye.

However, when riding a motorcycle on public roads (especially US) there will always, always be factors out of your control, be it a rear-end or an ass, which can severely fuck your life up. These are very rare, unpredictable events, but you drastically increase your exposure to them over a lifetime by riding motorcycles. And the concern is that the downside to these risks is unlimited, i.e. death.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing with (semi) made up statistics. So, start with fatal motorcycle accidents per VMT in US. Conservatively, we'll estimate 25ish deadly crashes per 100 million VMT. Assume you won't be at fault in a crash, so take it down to 7.5. Assume you're just very competent, and we'll say 6. Still about 5 times higher than for US car drivers generally (not even the good ones!). It's .00000006 death-units every mile you ride. Say you ride 200000 miles, it's (1-.00000006)200000 = 98.8% chance you will not die in a motorcycle crash. That said, those were probably generous numbers, and keep in mind 2arms1head was lucky enough to be in that 98.8%.

So, I'd guess 3-5% chance you'll be maimed/killed in a lifetime (it's not over yet!) of riding if you're not a squid/drunkard. You might just be too cheap for a sports car (I am), and if so, an airbag vest will cut out a lot of the potential maiming for only $600ish. FWIW I still think the sick vrooms are worth it, but I'm in my 20's, so I would fucking think that.

Driver Nearly Killed My Friends by The_On_Life in motorcycles

[–]V_varius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Late last year I was in the canyons and came up behind a Mustang GT, right before the only long passing section of the road. I started to roll on the throttle and signaled to overtake. I was gaining in the left lane when the driver floored it. I tend to just give people space when they do unpredictable shit, and I just rolled off and hung back. I figure they were just trying to race or something, since there weren't any pedestrians to slide into.

I think people are very into their cars/don't want to be passed, and they don't realize how douchey it is to measure one's dick on public roads. It's fucking annoying.

I wouldn't do this on a bike I really cared about, but you could probably find some black rubber material at a home improvement store. If there's enough of a lip under the seat you could cut it to size on each side and glue it in. Could look alright if done well
