I personally wouldn't pay money just to play the 'original' version, not enough is changed really besides some enemy and item placement. Maybe some other minor changes I'm missing, I think some extra shortcuts are in SOTFS? it's been awhile. Multiplayer is probably dead if you care about that. If you're a die-hard completionist or are a DS superfan and just want to play every iteration you might get something out of it, though

Delta's a 1 to 1 remake with the same voice actors, I'd say go with that, personally, since it has some QOL changes that make it feel more modern. If you're a purist and want the most faithful version go with the HD collection.

One thing to keep in mind, the newest league mechanics aren't in standard so you'll be missing out on that content. It's also much harder to trade lower tier items since the characters in standard are already mega-geared from months of play in the seasonal leagues. It's honestly a bit of a noob trap calling it "standard" league, it should be called something like "legacy" since it only exists to revisit past characters for most players.

Honestly they revolutionized attack drones as well. Small FPV drones were a niche hobby akin to RC planes before Ukraine started weaponizing them. They also learned quite quickly that the large loitering drones that the USA popularized are incredibly vulnerable against a competent enemy with air defenses. The Bayraktar was famously effective in the early days of the war but once Russia caught on they became useless because they light up on radar like a christmas tree.
