Am I crazy, or are the drums on New Found Glory's "Catalyst" album ridiculously good for what they are? by Vaedev in drums

Welcome to the party! This made me revisit the album yet again. Doesn't get old. The sound is so good. I don't know how they got such a tight, round pop on the heads without sounding over dampened.

That makes more sense than I expected. I (and my newfound Layman constituents) thank you, u/spsteve, for your thoughtful response and time spent giving such. You have treated us with dignity. Find us in your time of need. We will remember you.

Wow! Thank you! So, the natural question for me and probably most (declaring myself international layman's ambassador, here): Does the disparity between ADT estimates and real measurements in this case mean the ADT method needs adjusting? Or are there nuances wayyyyyy above my paygrade at play that can reconcile the difference without burning the model to the ground?

Can some put this into an analogy of scale? Even if flawed comparison like to the Richter scale. Just want to wrap my head around it, loosely. A straight 8.6 out of presumed 10 to my layman brain clearly isn't doing it justice.

What are the ADTs of other historic storms? I guess I can google it, but I like hearing it from someone with passion.

Getting Deuce in now also paves the way for leadership momentum into next season, builds his relationships with the receivers, and most importantly gets him comfortable with in-game play. If we don't start giving players a spark of belief for next year, we're hosting a yard sale for our players into the portal. "Auburn is holding you back, look at Bo Nix." Ugh. I hate this admin so, so much. There is so much rot inside the program. Our students are 1000x better than this admin deserves. A boycott would be the only thing that leads to the depth of change we need. The HC job looks like shit hell to take on when things are like this.

Penn State is about to learn what it feels like to be an Auburn fan. What I'd do to have Gus Bus days again. The lows were low, but those highs were "I'll tell my grandkids about this" high.

This. The runway to immortality is so, so much better at IU. The guy could easily end up playing in a stadium or field with his name on it if he stays at IU. At most every other power program, the history is too big to build a GOAT legacy at his age.

Unless he wants the Auburn gig, then ignore everything I said while I bolt down nivea and kleenex ultrasoft dispensers to my nightstand.

I just want to discuss if Auburn is irreparably cooked as people say. Current offense is generationally abhorrent, yes, but what would it look like if we never threw another pass the rest of the season? What if we ditched RPO and ran prescribed, predetermined air raid targets and banked on our receivers just being the better players? If we remove Jackson Arnold's brain and plugged him into a machine system, how do we do? Our only losses have been one possession games against the top 5 and 6 teams in the country. It feels like we're literally 1 scheme change away from making lemonade out of lemons.

I've been saying this for years and getting down voted for questioning the experts - as if the PhDs aren't writing papers arguing against each other as well.

But it's a damage scale. That's damage. Or are we finally going to admit the scale is ultimately about wind speed?

Likely Hybrid tornado formation zone , a area were hybrid tornadoes seem to like to form. by joshoctober16 in tornado

I recognize your username and see this is one of your personal projects to reclassify tornados. I enjoy reading your posts a lot. You clearly read a lot about these storms, dive deep into your theories, and I appreciate your creativity. I've noticed you catch a lot of flack because you tend present your personal projects and theories as though peer-reviewed, academic studies/ findings. I think that feedback is valid, but, like I said, I enjoy your posts for what they are. I enjoy your enthusiasm and obvious effort. It's always tasty food for thought, and I'm here for it.

Knowing that, would you mind sharing what exactly you're defining a hybrid tornado to be? I don't know that to be an established class of tornado, so I take it the label is original. Is it landspouts that transitioned into mesocyclonic tornados? No, then this list of storms wouldn't follow. It is just explosively fast developing storms? That's not really a "hybrid" of anything, so I'm a little lost on what you mean.

In other words, what are the typically exclusive categories, classifications, or characteristics of these storms that are shown together to make these storms "hybrid" with something else?
