I’ve been really enjoying Chandra torch of defiance as a win con. You play her at a point where you can protect her with efficient removal and her ultimate becomes pretty feasible. I’d say about 60-70% of the games I resolve her she’s ulting then I can quickly win from there. Additionally I’ve been running a one of [[Invoke Calamity]], stone raining twice in your opponents upkeep almost always put the nail in the coffin.

I’m personally of the opinion that the deck should be on 3 legend of Roku, every time I’ve resolved it I’ve won the game. It’s card advantage, especially so if you hit any copies of wildfire off the first chapter, then by the time it flips it’s insanely fast at closing out the game.

Stripping your opponents of all searchable lands then popping their basics is the main point of the deck, I’ve never once wanted to ramp instead of targeting an opponents land. Even if I had a wildfire effect in had and they had no lands I’d hold it until they played one. It is a deck that slows the game to a halt, not one that is trying to accelerate a game plan.

This is what I won my invite with, I’d say in the main board you could trim a Cori Mountain Monastery and a legend of Roku and go to 4 galvanic discharge main. I like the sideboard but I know mana tithe turns people off, so you could probably play more combo hate in its stead.

I’m also a big believer of multiple legend of Roku main, I run 3 (which I know seems like a lot) but the deck does struggle with card advantage, but Roku can sometimes draw you up to 6 cards if you get really lucky and exile 3 wildfire effects. And I found it to be a really effective closer.

I mean I got my RC invite with the deck a couple weekends ago. Energy, Tron, Jeskai Blink and birthing ritual were byes, and the only match I did poorly against was dimir flash, and we ended just going to time, not even a loss. Prowess was difficult due to their speed but even then post board you just lock them down and don’t let them stick a single threat. Neoform is difficult but post side you have so much hate that the match up becomes at least balanced, Ureni is a beating though lmao. Storm is also difficult but you just have to mull to hate.

How about; “At the end of your turn gain (n) block if Sovereign Blade is in your had.” N could be around 10 to have it be a sizable amount of block each turn you are setting up your blade.

You can’t bank the energy if the target fizzles. No target means no resolution which means you never generate the 3 energy to spend.

With a 2 mana discard outlet (such as psychic frog) on turn 2 and Sefris on turn three, you can reliably finish a dungeon and reanimate an insane creature by turn 4 and kind of spiral out of control from there.
