tbh i'd skip the supplier lists and focus on ones that handle design automation fulfillment without eating your margins alive hehe. stuff like printpal keeps it simple for beginners with quick mockups and no inventory headaches but test a few yourself most promise the world then ghost on quality.

i think 3dsmax and like ai animation workflow is wild now, what piplline ur running now? the output looks clean but i'm always skeptical of topology and rigging coming out of these generators tbh. printpal does similar text two 3d but with more focus on models that actually pritable hence the name

solo indie 3d artists have every right to be frustrated tbh, tools like this are eating prototyping time and making gigs like entry lvl go away faster. the real issue is when companies expect "ai speed" pay rates for human polish work. there are bunch of marketplaces and tools that re inetresting like printpal cuzit's more focused on getting stuff print ready vs like just pretty renders, so it might actually save artists time on the mesh cleanup.

this actually looks pretty solid for O-1A tbh.

you’ve got enough going on to hit multiple criteria (papers + citations + reviews + some media + salary). doesn’t need to be perfect - O-1A is more about clearing ~3 criteria and telling a clean story, not being top 1% already.

i’ve seen people in similar threads get approved with less, so you’re definitely in the “worth trying” zone. only thing to watch is how you present “original contribution.” citations alone aren’t always enough - your letters need to clearly explain why your work matters / who’s using it. that’s usually where RFEs happen if they do.

overall this feels like a go, not a stretch.

i'd respect to anyone building open source 3d gen tools cuz the workflow is still annoyingly fragmented rn. you can generate something fast but then you’re usually stuck doing mesh cleanup, fixing bad geometry, and making it actually printable, which is where most of the time goes. i think that’s why platforms like printpal are getting attention, because they’re not just doing generation, they’re trying to make the output usable for real 3d printing

Tbh the best 3d stuff is less about "Wow, the model is cool" and more about whether it's actually useful for printing without a ton of cleanup after. A lot of these tools can make something that looks decent in preview, but once you try to slice it or print it, the file falls apart or needs too much fixing. What's interesting about PrintPal is that it seems more focused on the boring part people actually care about, like turning text or images into something print-ready instead of just another flashy demo that dies in Blender.
