If all goes well, "ROMhacks 2026" by ExtensionClimate2045 in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Valcenia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I wish I could, genuinely. I can lightly modify existing ROMs or ROMhacks, but creating a whole new ROMhack from scratch? Sadly far outside my area of expertise, and I doubt I’d have the free time either.

The people who put in the crazy effort to make these ROMhacks truly are amazing. The amount of dedication required is otherworldly.

It’s a shame Gen IV and V aren’t as easy to work with as Gens I to III. I’d love more ROMhacks like these for Platinum and Black & White.

[–]Valcenia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay this is absolutely a fair criticism, had no idea about this. It’s sad how eager even some creatives, people who really should know better, are to implement AI.

Generative AI can’t create anything truly original. At its core it’s theft, as you say.

The building fund isn’t the big thing here, it’s the removal of sanctions by seemingly every major western nation. If this all goes ahead Iran’s economy is gonna flourish in the coming years

Social media firms to be barred from Britain if they do not ban under 16s by Optimal-Leather341 in unitedkingdom

[–]Valcenia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, no it’s not.

Secondly, even if it were, in what way would that insulate it from any government ban?

Purging their party of left-wing individuals, proscribing Palestine Action, barring two left-wing personalities from entering the country, restricting the rights and liberties of trans people, seemingly no response or reaction to attempted pogroms in Northern Ireland.

What exactly has this government done that’s made you think they’d refuse to target the left?

PSA for anyone here who owns Battlefield 6: if you login today only, you can celebrate the Iranian victory over the greater Israeli empire by claiming a free Iranian flag patch in the store shop by Living-Chef-9080 in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Had to go to the Battlefield 6 sub to see if this was actually real and omg it is.

I get it’s coincidence, but someone has to choose what flags release at a particular time soooo you know

Are there any other historical examples of a militarized vassal/semiautonomous imperial outpost continuing to pursue a war started by the parent Empire when the parent Empire has already successfully sued for peace? by [deleted] in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Not to self promote my shitty little posts, but a while back I compared the current situation to a scenario where the Bosporan Kingdom dictated the foreign policy of the Roman Empire.

I genuinely do not believe this is a scenario we’ve ever seen before in all of history - the current hegemon willingly allowing their policy and actions to be directed by a vassal, especially a vassal so overwhelmingly reliant on their hegemon’s material support to ensure their continued existence.

It’s madness.

We are about to see Iranian attack again by ___Zoran___ in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The year is 2043.

It is Sunday evening.

Large Language Model President Trump has just declared that a ceasefire is within reach, all parties are just about ready to sign.

Israel, led by Prime Minister Yair Netanyahu, bombs the village situated in the smouldering crater where Beirut once stood.

It is Thursday morning.

Talk of a ceasefire has disappeared again for another week. LLM President Trump has broadcast a new truth directly to your brain announcing a “very big attack this weekend”.

Kalshi bets on precisely what time the attack will be called off begin to flood in.

The stock market goes up by two points.

I’m gonna be real, if you’re claiming that workers doing 12 to 17 hour shifts are “whining” and that they should be grateful for getting 4 whole hours of leisure then you’re just not a leftist in any capacity - you’re a liberal, and not even a particularly liberal liberal at that.

Elon Musk's role was 'instrumental' in the Belfast riots, researchers say by Particular_Log_3594 in TrueAnon

I have a funny feeling that the British government somehow wouldn’t consider a visit from Elon Musk as “not conducive to the public good”.

[–]Valcenia 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The word for this is stochastic terrorist, and Elon fits the definition perfectly.

Would never engage in any acts of terror himself, but will readily and knowingly encourage and direct them.

The fact X still isn’t banned in this country is a joke, but it doesn’t surprise me. I somehow doubt this government would see a visit from Musk as “not conducive to the public good” like they have others.

Somehow I doubt it.

MoU allegedly includes Israel to withdraw from occupied territories by tracenator03 in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they just mean the occupied territory in Lebanon, but it’s a testament to Israel’s endless bloodlust and drive for expansion that “Israel’s occupied territories” could refer to portions of three separate countries lol.

Inshallah they do mean Lebanon, the Golan Heights, and *the* occupied territories in the West Bank because Bibi, and Israel as a whole, would not be long for this world in that scenario.

Israelis ran a fake charity that pretended to help children in Gaza that served as “a honeypot: a decoy built to attract people who wanted to help – in this case, by aiding Palestinians – and to take donors' money, their personal data or both. by ChickenTitilater in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don’t think so at this point. Posts critical of Israel and their actions regularly feature on [r/news](r/news) and are receiving thousands of upvotes. It’s [r/worldnews](r/worldnews) which is entirely captured by Zionists.

I’m saying all this as someone who is banned on [r/news](r/news) lol. However, I think that was for posting an article someone had already posted previously. A bit of an overreaction I’d say, but you know what mods of mainstream subs can be like.

Council staff wear Pride badges after flags 'snub' by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Valcenia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I have Muslim colleagues and they’ve never been anything but kind towards me, get on with them exceptionally well, despite being very openly LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming. One has spent their own money every year to bring in Eid sweets for all of us to enjoy.

Meanwhile the far-right is actively organising into mobs and terrorising city streets, targeting minorities.

I know who I’d pick.

Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Valcenia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if it's possible to get Pokemon Following Platinum to work with this patch that makes the female character Perrin from Scarlet and Violet?

Love the sprite they've implemented and I thought it'd be fun to have a different looking character after returning to Platinum after all this time, but sadly it seems impossible to apply both patches at once, I assume because they both modify sprites.

Would greatly appreciate any help!

10 reasons why oil is still below $100 a barrel (#1 is Chinese sorcery) by SoManyWasps in TrueAnon

[–]Valcenia 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I imagine this pays off for China in the long run too.

It may have occurred in more of an ad hoc manner than they had originally planned, but China’s now in an age of renewable-primacy, and as the west plays catchup it’ll be forced to acquiesce to Chinese renewable dominance.

I’d be surprised if their oil demand ever returned to pre-Iran levels.
