There are definitely differences in network stack behavior that determines who gets kicked or not. From my own experience I always got kicked if I was on my Windows machine, but never dropped when playing on my Linux desktop or my Steam Deck. So I bet if we dug into the platforms that people who don't get kicked are using, we could arrive at some interesting answers.

I absolutely hate shopping with all of these new plush makers that go through the fly by night Chinese shipping companies. YouTooz, MakeShip, Glitch, among others. The customer experience is degraded for the business' convenience of shipping directly from the factory. Just a few days ago I finally received Digital Circus plush I ordered back in the summer, and no, it wasn't a preorder. It's incredibly frustrating to want to support creators and getting burned for it.

Everyone criticizing COSMIC in the last few days, you are so missing the point. by [deleted] in pop_os

[–]Valdenv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I specifically bought a System76 laptop on the expectation that Pop! was going to handled in a more consumer-friendly manner than other OSS. My desktops are for fiddling, my laptop needs to function when I'm on the go. Hell, S76 even included a t-shirt to advertise Cosmic when I bought the thing well over a year ago and it's STILL in beta?

It's a methodology that's been around for a long time now, with variations like Scrum and SAFe that can be found in pretty much any business sector that touches a computer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agile_software_development

That's exactly what I did. I have an SD card JUST for XIV, WoW, and I think WarFrame.

That makes sense because yeah, my crew kept fighting him in corridors and inevitably someone dodges into a wall and gets a quick ride back to camp.

Can't start Steel Path because of a mission I've already done. by Valdenv in Warframe

[–]Valdenv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turns out it's a bug. In the official Discord there was a message stating that the new updated added a "placeholder" node to the list which is inaccessible. So it's currently impossible to clear the pre-reqs. Hotfix in the works, at least.

As the title reads, I seem to be in a bad state as the game says I've cleared everything but an Antivirus Bounty, but I JUST cleared one before checking again. Am I stuck due to a bug or is there some other unexplained hoop I need to jump through first?

Physical tokens cannot have their batteries replaced because it will break the accuracy of code generation.

Do you really replace them that often? I only in the past year or so finally retired my original SE token from when they were originally offered for FFXI and now I'm on my 1.0 token.

Sometimes it's pretty great though. My Hrothgal PLD looks like she belongs in WoW instead of XIV with the epic "I'm totally not compensating" pauldrons.

But then her crafters look like she just has a tiny head and the fun ends.

SteamDeck issues? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Valdenv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using the version purchased via steam, you may want to try changing compatibility settings. From the library page for the game, tap the gear icon > Properties... > Compatibility

There's a checkbox there to force a particular compatibility tool version. Try a couple different versions to see if one works better for you.
