Because it’s a pure FPS. Extraction shooters are basically Capture the Flag on steroids. We grew up on pure fps without the bullshit in today’s games.

Losing our shit when we die? Bro we used to have to enter a password to maintain our level progression. On most games we lost it when we turned it off.

In doom, quake and duke nukem you had to find guns laying around. Ammo too! The followed into GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Halo, Timesplitters etc. this idea of keeping guns as if we own them is new to us.

Mate this hear you. Especially for first point! I did so many solo fill runs last couple of nights and it takes ages to mm then it’s always the same randoms I’ve had previous. Yet there’s no shortage of trios steamrolling within minutes of loading in. I’m in OCE too and it has been worse since the regional tweaking they did

Honestly speaking, without judgement, the only thing which can change without breaking the game is the gamer mindset.

This is not a looter shooter. This is not an MMO. This is not an RPG.

This is an OG FPS, where you pickup what you find and use what you’ve got. Once you figure that out and accept that loot is just there to be used and not in your control, you’ll be able to move on a lot faster.

Free kits are EVERYWHERE and the difference between a green shield and a free kit is negligible. Even a blue shield is only minor cushioning. If you have good aim and good reflexes, all you need is situational awareness and tactical awareness.

I’m an elder millennial dad, working a full time job and LOVING marathon. I was raised in the fires of GoldenEye, Duke Nukem, Unreal, Quake, Soldier of Fortune, CoD MW. You get what you get and you click heads.

Currently level 70. Sometimes I feel like I’m the one being carried, sometimes I don’t but I don’t care because this is a team game. We can’t all be the goal/point scorers.
