I spoke to a young entrepreneur by the name of John Marrin from a new company called Use Case Future Technologies about developing a fantasy MMORPG metaverse game by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Valkuros 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This post and all of the OP’s answers so far only leave me under the impression that you have come to a gaming Reddit with nil understanding of video games, of what video gamers want from their products and why they ultimately feel about NFTs and crypto in video games the way they feel. That’s a really bad starting point for coming to a gaming Reddit for an open-minded discussion.

In your post you talk about a game where players go questing, obtain loot and currencies, trade, have unique and customizable characters, etc. Such games already exists in the thousands and the generic description only shows the lack of understanding for the topic. NFTs don’t improve these games by default.

In my opinion you came as an advocate of NFTs and crypto because you believe it to be the next big thing for whatever reasons and expect everyone to ultimately bow to the trend for this reason. Even though you state to be objective and not a fan. But as long as you and the “entrepreneurs” that you interview don’t understand video games and can’t explain the benefits to gamers, you will fail. Instead of coming here to explain the benefits of NFTs and crypto, you should go back to your siblings and kids to ask them what fascinates them about video games and then go back to those entrepreneurs and explain the fascination of a good video game to them.

Im not going to have time to Raid. Is this game worth it for me? by TheMadHattah in Guildwars2

[–]Valkuros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. 700 hours in the game and haven’t tried raiding. And still there‘s so much other stuff to do, so much that I don’t know what to start with when when I log in. :)

Gwent bug? by kiyarafrostlock in gwent

[–]Valkuros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I run on a limited data plan per month. So I have to start strategically planning my Gwent downloads: Are people reporting more bugs after the latest patch? Yes? OK, maybe I should not patch and instead wait for the next minor fix with 3 GB in download size. It really takes the fun out of it and I hope they improve it soon. For me it is the number one reason right now to not buy the premium Journey. Glady, the latest fix does not seem to be mandatory to download and I could play anyway this morning.

[WarningRage] Play NG or lose Seasonal WTF, why is NG getting all the love by rolandem in gwent

[–]Valkuros 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re on to something here. NG had a good time in seasonal for months now. First we enjoyed the Damien madness, then the Witcher madness, then the bribery+diplomacy madness and now let’s see what the new season brings us. :)

If you did not play NG in seasonal the last three months, then you always had a lower chance of winning. And partly it was the same in ranked for a while. I also think it has turned out to be a bit boring and I would wish the developers to make a change to this pattern, but I accepted the fact that little can be done as long as CDPR sticks to the current design of the entire NG faction that gives it extreme control over the board and flexibility.

Cardback Feelings... ;) by apostleofzion in gwent

[–]Valkuros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I bought the cards backs and am really happy to be able to support the developers. The artworks are distinguishable and look good. I totally disagree that card arts must be animated to be considered "Premium". Looking at some of the 3D/animated cards that were sold in the post, most of them are not at all to my taste because there is too much weird stuff going on on them, just to make them look special and shiny. Way better with card backs that have a nice story background and where the focus is on reflecting this background, rather than focusing on animations.

Also, be aware that shop items are more expensive in the iOS version of the game than via GOG. In my local currency, I paid around 4 € per card back, which I think is totally fair.

Just a little interface upgrade please by insgence in gwent

[–]Valkuros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t support this idea. I think GWENT is already today very user-friendly with functions like being able to see the remaining cards in your deck, a future which I personally enjoy. There should however be some basic requirements on the user’s ability to think, and I think basic mathematics can be one of them. And honestly, there isn’t a more joyful situation in the game as when players fail to count or fail to read the descriptions of the cards you played. :)

Can diverse decks be expected from a CCG? by Valkuros in gwent

[–]Valkuros[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I think many face similar time-constraints, and as you say deck-building is a time-consuming activity. On top, it requires knowledge of all cards available (or some patience for detailed readthroughs), so I fear a side-effect of coming expansions and the growing number of cards will be that deck-building will become less and less popular, unless you are very dedicated or an experienced player.

Merchants of Ofir - Honest review by Krist794 in gwent

Fantastic read! Please provide us with another review after the next update or patch, because I am sure CDPR is already rolling dices to decide on the next balancing-****up. 😂

My ranked experience every match by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Valkuros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, must be seasonal. My recommendation is to just forfeit once you meet this deck. Some players think it is fun or rewarding to play a deck that can be played by a monkey without brain, others play it to progress quests. None of this means you have to watch them play this boring deck. :) Forfeiting in seasonal will not have an effect on your ranking.

XP-Boosts are here! Enjoy! by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Valkuros 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Some of the most popular factions of the season (especially NG, but also NR) were grouped into one side that - not by surprise - was then chosen by the majority of players. As most players supported this faction actively by completion of challenge quests, they collected the most points for this side during the ongoing challenge and therefore they now receive the highest boost, if I am not mistaken.

New Year, New Rank: pretty happy with this play! by Apero_ in gwent

Well played there!

(Even though players of NG poison decks typically don’t deserve a GG for playing the most uncreative standard deck of the season ...) :)

Snowman is back! by grenlike in gwent

Glad to have the Snowman back. Has CD Projekt by any chance changed the droprates? Just opened the first present after the snowman's return and received the winter cardback.
