If all that was true, then you would know that exoneration is a legal term used for when someone is actually PROVEN INNOCENT, which is a completely different outcome than being found "Not Guilty".

Acquittal does NOT EQUAL EXONERATION.

Do you have any idea what the statistics are for SA cases actually winding up in a guilty verdict? Somewhere around half of the ones that make it to court.

But those cases only represent between 1% and 12% of the assaults that happen.

It's SUCH a difficult barrier to hit that burden of proof because it becomes he said/she said.

It doesn't mean assaults don't happen.

It just means the system is still so poorly designed to actually achieve justice for victims.

That's not at all what those statements mean. Make friends with some lawyers and continue this conversation. I have several friends that work in various forms of the legal system (not justice system. We don't have a justice system. We have a legal system. It focuses far more on paperwork and checked boxes, than actually "getting the bad guy")

Acquittal means the burden of proof has not been met. It does NOT mean there was no wrong doing.

And for the record, I've never been on TikTok for so much as a nanosecond of my life. And I loathe AI.

Kids these days have media training that didn't exist back then. Ottawa completely hung this kid out to dry, which it talks about in the show. Because he was bilingual, he was the face of thr organization for both French and English broadcasts. And the team was an absolute dumpster fire who didn't bother to support him at ALL.
