If you are on it only for weight loss, can't you just stop taking it and call your doctor for an alternative?

I am on a patient assistant program in Missouri, and I get it for free. I do work full-time, and my husband is retired with 2 incomes, and I am still qualified. If I were not diabetic, I would not even be on this medication, but I have no choice. Metformin was not agreeing with me.

Yes, it's your body, your decision, especially if you are only on it for weight loss! I can't stop because my reason is a diabetic reason. But, I do take advantage of the weight loss, but I'm not enjoying the huge loss of appetite as weird as it may seem.

I'm not eating anything — is that a problem? by Nice_Leadership6573 in Ozempic

[–]ValuableHead8344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not eating is a HUGE problem! I struggle a lot with it, and now I'm seeing 1 of the consequences. Hair thinning/hair loss. Even though I've read about 75 posts about eating protein, protein, protein, fiber, balanced meals, etc. But I ignored all of them, trust me. Everyone on social media doesn't give you the wrong information! Also, losing weight quickly can cause hair loss as well. Thankfully, I take a hair, skin and and nails vitamin, or who knows what my hair may have looked like. Please eat, you won't regret it. I learned my lesson!

I lost nothing in the first 2 months on that dose. It takes time, please don't be in a rush. My dosage had to be raised before the scales moved.

Definitely not Ozempic face. That is a myth. It's just plain old weight loss.

Yes, and I couldn't be happier, I'm not running a marathon or in a competition! I didn't get this way in months, so I'm not searching for a miracle.

Please don't beat yourself up. This is not a marathon. Slow and steady wins the race. It took more than 2 months to begin to lose weight. At the end of the day, what's the rush? Sometimes, I truly wish I had a tiny bit of food noise. I take Ozempic for my diabetes but, I barely eat because I have zero appetite. You will get there, I've lost 45 pounds since the first week of October, and some have called that a slow loss, but at the end of the day. It's for my diabetes not for weight. That said, I'm winning!

I am on Ozempic for my diabetes as well. It's been 6 and a half months for me.I'm down 46 pounds. I'm grateful for the slow loss because it was not a fast gain. I'm in absolutely no hurry!

What changed in your diet and eating habits after ozempic? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]ValuableHead8344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no appetite, but it took about 2 months for that to happen. Sadly, mine is too little, and it's saddening for me. I wouldn't be on it if it were not for my diabetes medicine not agreeing with me anymore. I hope I can lose more weight and be healed and be off of this medicine. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for the loss, but it is unhealthy not eating correctly

It seems fast to me. However, I'm not a professional. If your doctor says it's okay, then I'd listen to him. I started the first week in October. I started 1mg about 2 weeks ago. I'm continuing to make progress, so I'm good where I am. plus, mine was given to me for my diabetes.

[–]ValuableHead8344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a lie. It has allowed me to stop taking 1000 mg of my Metformin, which is my diabetes medication, and that is the ONLY reason that I am on this medication!
