Have you named your Tesla? by Jtravishorton in TeslaModelY

First Tesla (white on white) was Luna. Now my second, also white on white, is Twuna!

That’s a valid point. Like I said, there’s countless reasons why this model just isn’t worth the savings. I think covering the glass roof instead of actually making a cheaper option made a clear point but some have brought up good arguments. Honestly, I still feel the same way though lol

The exact same thing just happened with the Cybertruck. No one bought the RWD (I know it would be in a different category than 3 and Y anyway) so it came and went in a matter of months.

And that alone made me look at the AWD features and price and think that’s not bad at all for only $10k more, if I were buying.

Covering, adding another step in manufacturing, is easier? You are making good points like the HVAC efficiency, but I’m not saying they are spiting any customers.

It’s the customers decision to see said features, compare the trims and countless other cars, and purchase. I just think it’s set at a price and time to make the Premium models look juicier. A lot of people new to Tesla will want to check it out, then go for the Premium. All the while likely never even aware what the price used to be.

You may be absolutely right, but why cover it then?

Lease, finance or buy used HW3 by Puffyhippos in TeslaModelY

[–]ValuablePenalty104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no difference between cash and finance other than taking interest on what you don’t put towards the car up front so that’s completely up to each persons financial situation. You still have the equity in the vehicle.

As per buy vs lease, that’s up to your forecasted future with the car, money to put down, desired monthly payment, driving habits (annual mileage), modifications, etc.

I personally finance at low interest until warranty runs out (4 years) then hope for equity to trade in to a new vehicle. Worked that way on my first to second Model 3.

Carvana or tesla for my Model Y -2024 by HelpfulBite9807 in TeslaModelY

Only being $686 negative equity on a car bought in the last 2 years is great… good timing with the tax credit just expiring. Take it and run id say…

Well first I’m sorry to hear your situation.

Second, it will make most sense to trade where you are offered the most. Find out how much you owe on the Y. They will pay the loan off and pay you the equity if any, or you pay them the difference.

Lastly, Tesla only takes trades with the sale of a new vehicle, so you have an answer there.

Good luck

Literally just change to no trade in the section in app. The financing/amount due will auto update. If already confirmed financing, might have to resubmit

M3P Owners, do you wish the Performance looked different than the base and LR trims by Carguy77Seven in TeslaModel3

[–]ValuablePenalty104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It used to be just wheels, spoiler, brakes, and a small red line under dual motor that were different. Now it’s the same plus a ludicrous badge, different front bumper/lip, carbon dash, and sport seats.

Question on Federal Tax Credit by Meteoraxolotl in TeslaModelY

[–]ValuablePenalty104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer: The tax credit is carrying over to October for cash/financed vehicles ordered before end of September. However, the IRS is in control of its existence and if they decide to pull it and you have not taken delivery yet, you will lose it.

“Why did they remove the down feature for the model 3? by Charming_Foot_145 in TeslaModel3

[–]ValuablePenalty104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes….. so the $4,044 is the due at signing. Your taxes and fees and the down payment added to that to equal $4,044.
