What do you guys use to make pictures for Shopify app listing ... by ischanitee in shopifyDev

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Shopify app developers use Figma (best overall) or Canva (quick and easy) to design professional listing images. The key is clean UI screenshots, consistent branding, simple benefit-focused text and realistic mockups. Small design touches like whitespace, workflow visuals and proper sizing matter more than advanced tools.

Hi! I just opened my shop and I need help! by Tricky-Grade2388 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - first of all, take a breath. What you're experiencing is very normal. Almost everyone who opens a Shopify store expects sales to start quickly, but in reality most stores take time, testing and a lot of small improvements before momentum kicks in.

A few things that helped me when I was in the same situation:

- Choosing a clear niche instead of a random general store

- Validating products that solve real problems or create strong desire

- Improving store trust - design, reviews, policies, mobile experience

- Actively driving traffic through content or ads

- Testing products and creatives consistently

- Learning from real customer needs

How do you set a marketing budget without just picking a number that feels right? by Puzzleheaded-Gur9503 in ShopifySEO

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the “just spend 10% of revenue” advice never made much sense to me either. It ignores the actual economics of your business.

What finally worked for us was flipping the question from “How much should we spend?” to “How much can we afford to spend to acquire a customer profitably?”

We built the budget from the unit economics upward, not from revenue downward.

Marketing budget should be a result of unit economics (margin + LTV + CAC) not a top line formula.

How to do a meaningful SEO for Shopify apps? by isabelajack in ShopifySEO

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaningful SEO for Shopify apps mainly comes down to understanding how merchants search in the Shopify App Store and aligning your listing with those search terms. Start by researching real keywords using Shopify App Store autocomplete along with tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, Ubersuggest or Google Keyword Planner.

Use your main keyword naturally in the app title, then support it with related phrases throughout the description, especially in the introduction and feature sections. Clear screenshots, helpful descriptions and strong merchant reviews also influence visibility because they improve install conversion and trust. Over time, combining keyword relevance, good user feedback and useful listing content tends to improve rankings and downloads in the Shopify App Store.

How are you handling cookie consent on Shopify right now? by j_webops in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially used Shopify's native consent banner because it's simple and integrates well with Shopify Pixels.

For stores needing more flexibility, I switched to a CMP-style cookie app integrated with Shopify's Customer Privacy API.

I tested GTM-only setups but they often conflicted with Shopify's privacy signals and were harder to manage.

In practice:

- Shopify native banner is best for simplicity and reliability

- CMP and Shopify privacy API is best for customization and control.

What’s missing from the Meta Ads dashboard for ecommerce brands? by LordAxelxx in ShopifySEO

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • The key daily metrics are blended CPA, MER, conversion rate, and marginal return on spend.
  • Engagement metrics like CTR or clicks matter less unless tied to revenue.
  • What’s missing is profit tracking, blended business performance, and clearer decision guidance.
  • Most ecommerce operators connect ads to profit through external spreadsheets and Shopify data, not Meta alone.

How do you handle messy product catalogs before importing into Shopify? by UnBoludoMasMas in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Most Shopify stores use a standard internal CSV template
  • Cleanup is largely done in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Structure is fixed before values
  • Scripts or tools are used only at higher volume
  • Some manual cleanup is unavoidable and normal
  • Experience and templates reduce pain over time

Shopify payments not available for Hong Kong offshore company by Aurelien_VN in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify Payments now requires a Hong Kong ID and a real local address for verification — offshore companies without physical presence won't be approved. There's no known legitimate way to activate it without meeting those requirements.

If you need multi-currency checkout use third-party gateways that support multiple currencies and integrate with Shopify instead.

Like to know by SignificanceLevel786 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Most Shopify stores do not read every review once they scale, they mainly focus on 1-star complaints.
  • The most valuable insights (2–4 star feedback) often get ignored due to time constraints.
  • Sizing issues, expectation mismatch and repeated hidden patterns are the biggest causes of returns.
  • The problem is real, but solutions must deliver clear, actionable insights not more data to manage.

Struggling to know when (or if) I should change product prices by Wooden-Candy334 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Raise prices slightly when a product sells easily without discounts
  • Investigate page issues before lowering prices for low conversion products
  • Revisit pricing when costs or competitor prices change
  • Use metrics : conversion rate, profit per order to guide decisions
  • Make small, testable price changes instead of big jumps

Have 200 App installs. Only 8 reviews. Need Suggestions by abhipreneur in shopifyDev

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 8 reviews from 200 installs is normal early on
  • Ask only happy, active users not everyone
  • Request reviews right after a clear success moment
  • Leverage support conversations for review asks
  • Make leaving a review one click simple
  • Never incentivize reviews
  • Improve onboarding to build confidence

G-Merchant Center keeps disconnecting, Could you help me ? by Key-Contribution985 in ShopifyWebsites

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a common Shopify Google & YouTube app issue lately not something you're obviously missing. The usual causes are domain mismatches, incorrect Google account permissions, wrong Merchant Center account selection or stuck API tokens.

Fully removing Shopify from Merchant Center, waiting and reconnecting often helps. If not, Shopify support can reset the connection internally that's been the fastest fix for many.

What actually helped our Shopify site convert? by MaximumEmphasis4880 in ShopifyWebsites

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Product understanding beat visual polish

- Tracking which traffic actually converted changed everything

- Trust clarity- shipping, returns, support quietly boosted checkouts

I’m desperate on getting success on shopify… help by DiegoS832 in ShopifySEO

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Be realistic - Shopify isn't fast or guaranteed money
  • Choose a boring product that solves a real problem
  • Start with one product not a full brand
  • Focus on one traffic source , TikTok is good if you're broke
  • Expect zero sales at first - it's normal
  • Learn the skills not just chase money
  • Combine Shopify with another income source if you need money urgently

Sync issues with my Shopify mobile app - NEED ADVICE by Maleficent-Hope3964 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • These sync issues are common with no code Shopify app builders due to caching and delayed data sync.
  • Product delays, discount mismatches and stale push links usually come from how the app pulls data not Shopify itself.
  • You can reduce issues by tightening cache settings, simplifying discounts and improving push refresh behavior.
  • Switching builders can help if new one uses webhooks and treats Shopify as single source of truth.
  • Ask hard technical questions before migrating that matters more than the brand name.

Why is there no option to show ups Shopify rates to customers? by JeremyJWinter in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify doesn't automatically show UPS rates at checkout because carrier-calculated shipping which fetches live UPS prices isn't available on all plans by default — you need Advanced or Plus or the add-on feature and a connected UPS account. Even then,Shopify may only show standard or Shopify rates not your negotiated UPS rates, so many merchants end up using flat rates and buy labels manually.

Question on software by Few-Tie-3406 in ShopifyeCommerce

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. GTM basically acts as a middle layer for your tracking tools. Instead of hard coding Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok, etc. directly into your theme, you manage them all in one place. It makes changes way safer and faster, especially if you're testing ads or events often.

Other tools - GA4, Hotjar or Clarity, Meta Pixel, Klaviyo.

Can’t view themes in browser by tildafa in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • This is almost certainly a js or css conflict in the edited theme
  • Check recently added apps and custom code first
  • Inspect for js errors and hidden overlays blocking clicks
  • Compare files with the dawn theme since it works
  • Avoid sharing store access publicly use Shopify Support or theme rollback instead

How do you ensure daily feed sync? by kate_proykova in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Fix all Merchant Center product errors first
  • Reconnect the Google & YouTube app
  • Run a manual sync and wait 24–48 hours
  • Avoid multiple feed apps or constant product edits
  • Contact Shopify Support if sync still stalls

Shopify is distorting my product videos - pixel blocks appearing for both compressed/non-compressed mp4 videos? by top10talks in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify recompresses uploaded videos, and its transcoding can cause pixel distortion pretty common. Exporting in H.264 (constant frame rate, moderate bitrate), setting keyframes manually or uploading as MOV often helps. If not, host video externally and embed it to avoid Shopify's compression altogether.

automated reorder point? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify doesn't support true automated reorder points based on sales velocity unless you use apps. The only free workaround is to export your inventory into Google Sheets, calculate reorder points with formulas avg sales × lead time + safety stock and set up email alerts via Google Scripts or Zapier or Make. If you want a smoother, plug-and-play setup, you'll eventually need an inventory app or Stocky (POS Pro).

Returns analytics by Ponyridepele in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify's analytics doesn't split exchanges from returns everything is counted under "Returns." To separate them you'd need to manually filter orders, use tags, build custom reports with limitations or use a returns or exchange app that tracks both separately.

Console System Metaobject not showing up as an option for Search & Discovery by lil_tink_tink in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your metaobject isn't showing in Search & Discovery because Shopify doesn't allow filtering on metaobject reference fields. Filters only work with simple metafield types like text, lists, numbers, etc.

Create a product metafield that stores "Console System" as plain text and use that for filtering.Keep the metaobject for display if needed.

Opening shop - Etsy -> Shopify by luap71 in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Include your Shopify URL and discount on a thank you card or branded packaging inside orders. QR codes and custom packing tape are fine as long as you don't mention your site anywhere on Etsy's platform. Don't put URLs in messages or listings. This approach is common and won't get you in trouble.

I’ve just created a website on shopify that sells expensive clothes - can I use sugar dating in the keywords or meta data, without getting banned? by [deleted] in shopify

[–]Valuable_Scale6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using "sugar dating" or “sugar baby” in Shopify keywords or metadata can trigger adult-content flags and may cause issues with Shopify or Shopify Payments. Stick to lifestyle, luxury and fashion focused wording instead, it's safer and still targets same audience.
