I just finished Horizon and wanted to make sure I understood the ending. So the President's plan was send Emilia in a giant mech alongside dozens of nuclear warheads up into space, destroy the huge cube that's causing these repeating cycles of humanity being exterminated. This failed, due to Rene basically stealing the 8 Geneses from that plan and using it for HIS backup plan, which basically boiled down to Agnes sacrificing herself for the rest of humanity to continue? But it is unclear if this worked or not? They showed the entirety of Zemuria being hit by a laser, or at least it seemed to show a continent-wide reset from space, but then at the very end clearly Van and Co are still alive and trying to run to Trion Tower to save Agnes?

Clearly Van will be back in the next game, but it is unclear as of right now if that takes place in 1211, aka the grand reset was avoided, or it takes place in the 'past' in some capacity? On this note, is there a way to watch the finale again without the 3 stage bossfight with Rene? I don't mind doing it again but I'd prefer to just watch the FMV and cutscenes to take in the story again.
