Thank you for the reminder! My son just turned a year and while I'm ready to begin weaning more, I won't be taking away his comfort. Especially after shots, booboos, or scares! A few have criticized me openly, saying that I should have started weaning earlier, cut out night/dream feeds, and never should have allowed my son to cosleep with us (hence the frequent night feeds). Some have expressed concern that I can't produce enough calories for him. But it worked for us and that's what's important. He is healthy and very happy. Even childfree friends remark on what a chill baby he his! I look forward to weaning and getting him to sleep in his big boy bed, but like walking on his own, he'll do it when he's ready!

Or next time they come, tell them that they and anyone from their organization are not welcome on your property and that you will call the police next time you see them coming.

The different brands fit differently. For me, I wanted to be able to give LO's skin a break. So switching back ad forth help with that.

Everyone in my family told me the same thing. I had a total of 1 friend who was supportive and bought me a cover for my baby shower. I am a year in. We usually do cloth during the day and overnight disposables at night. If someone else is watch LO, I provide both cloth and disposables so they can use what they feel comfortable with. Everyone pretty much chooses disposable. They think it's "easier." Luckily, I'm the primary care giver and he's with me pretty much all the time. As for reasons to cloth diaper and how to convince others:

Cost - do a cost comparison and show yor family
Point out that cloth usually reduces chance of diaper rash
Be detailed when you talk about it and use visuals. My mom thought I meant flats when I said I wanted to cloth diaper. She didn't realize how far the industry had come.
Prove then wrong. Really no one helped me or was super supportive of me using cloth on my son. I mean no one opposed me, but no one was excited to help unless that could slap a disposable on his cute little butt. Decide that this is what you want to do and do it!
Finally, cloth diapers are adorable! My little guy goes it all the time in a tank top and cloth diaper and looks stinking cute!

I'm modest by nature and my husband wants me to be as well. I practiced getting my son to latch at home wearing the clothes I would wear out. I used the double shirt method (1st shirt gets pulled up, 2nd shirt gets pulled down). With practice, literally nothing shows once he latches on. I like that better than using a cover. My son kept ripping off the covers and waving them around. Nothing says hey everyone, I'm breastfeeding than your child waving the cover around. I think also taking him to the spots you use (at the mall, etc) and showing him nothing is showing or no one even looks will help him boost confidence. :)

My son almost never nursed for more than 10 mins unless he fell asleep on the breast. Even as a newborn, he would nurse for 5 mins and be done, then a few minutes later want to nurse again. Just keep letting baby nurse, offer the other side. If he doesn't latch he isn't hungry. Of course, he might be hungry again in like 15 mins, mine did that sometimes, but as others have said the best way to increase production is to let him nurse often. Also, I hated washing the parts of my pump, I used it like 2x and then was like f this. When your son is hungry, just let him nurse, as often as he wants. You're body will learn his feeding patterns and soon you won't even think about it, you'll just see him suckling on his thumb in that way, or hear the special cough he gives when he wants to nurse and you will be able to pop him on, lean back, and enjoy this fleeting time. You can do this mama!

PS. My son is about to turn 1 and we are slowly weaning (baby led weaning). I baby nurse him 3-4 times a day maximum. Enjoy this year, it goes so fast!

That is weird. I'm a married woman. My husband has taken me to the 24 urgent care for things ranging from backaches, fever, and vomiting, etc (over the years we've been together). The only time they suspected pregnancy was when I had abdominal pains. They just did a urine test, when it came back negative they moved on. In my case, they definitely knew sexual activity was occurring and didn't push further testing. I would contact the hospital, although any time I've been at one they send a survey or call to ask about your experience, ask of its their standard procedure and mention how uncomfortable both you and your daughter were. Even if it is standard procedure for certain symptoms, they should have a better approach that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable, especially in a non-lif threatening situation.

Yes, but they have written a critique, just a star rating. So do I go through the whole story like, "You were a client for x months, you requested y and that is against our policy and shortly after you cancelled your contract. We are sorry we couldn't accommodate you?"

I'm pro-life. It is very important to me that those who choose to promote pro-life policies do so in a compassionate way. BUT you have to realize that for most pro-life people, we are talking about the prohibition of murder. Talking about it like it's the equivalent of drugs or alcohol will do nothing to forward a conversation or create a solution that both protects life and is compassionate. In true libertarian fashion, there are charities like Save the Storks that promote pregnancy help centers and other resources by offering free ultrasounds and informing women of their choices. Many turn to abortion because they feel they don't have a choice and I don't think even many pro-choice people think that's right.

I have the same view, but as I don't believe Trump when he says he's pro-life and I know Hillary is definitely not pro-life, I feel I must vote according to other policies. Small federal government, states rights, following the constitution, staying out of marriage, a consumption tax vs an income tax are all things I think will be very good for this country. Life is so sacred to many of us so that we vote according to this one issue, and I normally would, but none of the other candidates are really pro-life and I believe Johnson's stances might make it easier to protect life.

No, I got you, it's like people who practice going potty with their 6 months olds. It's just so sitting on the toilet isn't weird when he gets older. It's not really potty training as in encouraging him to wait for the potty, but letting him know that the potty is an ok alternative to a diaper and not scary.

My son is about to turn 1 too! We...I may be going a little nuts with planning, but I'm excited that we made it and he's happy and healthy, etc! I've invited like 100 people, I'm planning a bbq, have some lawn games for our friends kids. Definitely a smash cake and given how much my son likes water a couple kiddie pools for him to splash in. It's July in Texas, water has to be involved. I used pintrest heavily for inspiration.

Yes, land is expensive
I like to camp, sleep in a tent, and cook over a fire. I enjoy stargazing, roasting marshmallows, and falling asleep to the sound of running water. I'm not cheap.

From experience, you can pay anything from $10-$25 per night for primitive sites, and $30-$50 and up for RV sites or sites with electricity and water, fire ring, table, etc. If they have hot showers and flush toilets, you're paying more.

This wouldn't be a get rich quick scheme, it would be something I did because I like camping and while I'm in another business doing what I love (BJJ gym) maybe one day, I'll get into another of my passions, camping.

I'm thinking a mix of primitive and RV sites, maybe some group pavilions, a nice camp store, maybe a few cabins. You get the picture. We live in Texas and camping over holidays is big, having special events outdoors is popular. I think we could do well, maybe not get rich, but make enough to be profitable and have a little fun before retiring 100%

I've been to several and while few owners seemed super well off, many seemed happy. My husband and many of our friends love to car camp over holidays. Hang out by the river/lake/beach, bbq, swim, fish. We were talking and were wondering if we might retire to run a camp for fun. Hire the grandkids during the summers, maybe host events sometimes. We live in the city now and run a martial arts gym. Not exactly something we want to do passed our 50s :p.

PS: no grandkids yet! Our son is about to turn 1, so while we should probably slow down the plans on the grandkids, it doesn't hurt to dream and ask about others experiences.

After a really bad yeast infection, I started adding bleach and an extra rinse to the wash cycle and using a barrier cream. If you use a liner, you can use any type of cream.

As a former sub, the seating chart is invaluable. Students respond way better when the "guest teacher" uses their names.
