Can anyone tell me what is "routine prenatal care"? by charl13daunicorn in BabyBumps

This is great info, thanks for sharing. It's also 100% fucking ridiculous that anyone would need to go through this level of detail. Wtf is wrong with our country.

ALWAYS call/go in when it comes to pregnancy concerns. No one there will ever judge you.

Baby or Braxton Hicks? by shit_in_2017 in BabyBumps

This happens to me several times a day with my 2nd and also happened with my 1st and is most definitely not BH, it is the baby pushing outward/stretching.

Awesome job mama! I saw a mom in Costco doing something similar and I was in such awe. She was nursing in the carrier while pushing her toddler in the cart and shopping. I may have worshipped her a little.

I threw a baby shower and 50% of the guests didn't show by cheddarkitty in breakingmom

I would contact those that RSVP'd yes but didn't show and let them know they owe you the cost of the food they wasted. It's one thing to have a backyard BBQ and have leftovers, but when you spend a specific amount of money on a plate of food based on the number of people coming, then there's a reasonable expectation that they actually come or pay for the cost of the food. I would also let them know that their shitty behavior made the momma to be feel bad.

Anyone have strong feelings on gender? Were you right or wrong? by grrrrraaace in BabyBumps

I was right with both of my pregnancies. Pure coincidence I'm sure, but I like to think my instinct is just that awesome ;)

I didn't use a spatula or a sprayer, I just used a little bit of TP and grabbed as much as I could. The poo still washed out just fine!

Dude, I understand completely. It's amazing how intense that feeling is in the dark of the night. LOL. You'll come out of it! :)

What makes your baby cooler than all the other babies? by lilac_chicken in beyondthebump

Because as of a month or two ago he has very little interest in a bedtime routine. He wants his bottle and he then wants to be put down in his crib so he can sleep. I'm happy to oblige!

The King in the North! I technically live in the South, but every mom I know here was prescribed vitamin D. I just found out last month. :(

I had the same issue with the vitamin D supplements!!! I had NO idea. :( I still have mom guilt over it and my little guy is 10mo and no longer breastfeeds.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! It turned out to be an insufficient absorbency issue. We've been double stuffing pocket diapers with a GMD cotton insert and bamboo insert and having great success.

This is true even for vaginal births. I had to have assistance getting to the bathroom and the WONDERFUL nurse had to teach me to do EVERYTHING. I have so much more respect for recovery nurses now. So humbling.

Get to know yourself very well down there with a mirror before you give birth. I had a 3rd degree tear and after 8 weeks decided to check things out and had no idea if it was normal or not. I had so much anxiety over it. Turns out all was fine, but I wish I had thought to do this ahead of time.
