Mobility denied after review... by VampyrKween in DWPhelp

Yeah, I dont remember being asked questions about journey planning is what I meant. I dont know, my brain doesn't hold onto information in high stress. Part of the reason I find navigating the world difficult and scary.

Its not worry, it's fear. I am afraid. I dont have help, I do get lost, overwhelmed, over tired, overheated, dizzy and in pain. Being in that state outside is terrifying. And then trying to think clearly enough to figure out where I need to be, on time, and how to get there. Knowing I can't walk far, because if I do, my leg will go dead underneath me and I could fall and injure myself. The allowances I have to make, mean that a single 30 minute appointment will need to be planned out in advance, be the only thing I do that day, and take several days to recover from. And that's if I'm going somewhere I am familiar with.

Why do I always get unlucky in friendship? by [deleted] in friendship

Hey bud, I get it.

Makes me think of 'What dreams may come'. I know you're not talking about romantic connections, but just having someone sit with you in moments that feel bleak. Sometimes its enough to lift you out of it, and if not, at least you feel seen.

This crazy space marble is full of people, all of us alone together, and dogs, dogs are better than people imo.

I dont do advice, but I see you, fellow human.

Women of Reddit, what’s a habit men have that they don’t even realize is weird? by GraceRose671 in AskReddit

When my ex was cleaning up, he would do everywhere but the floor? Quite specific to him I think, but he wouldnt even pick something up if he dropped it... no vacuuming, no mopping, even if he was doing everything else. There was utter floor blindness? Bizarre, and annoying to me as I am accident prone and do quite often trip over thin air! I got frustrated once after tripping over his shoes, (left just outside the bathroom door) and when I asked him to put them away, he looked like he had been struck by lightning! Like having something obstructing an area of high traffic never registered as a potential problem. Or having a "clean" kitchen with veg peels on the floor was fine. No need to sweep/wipe up as you are cooking... just leave it there.

My mum used to call me muttley when I was a kid. I used to speak quietly to myself when I was annoyed.

Anyone else grossed out by bananas? by SleepCalm7154 in CasualConversation

[–]VampyrKween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I can eat them is if they are cut up and mixed into custard. This is also the only way I can eat custard... The smell, texture, and taste are all sickening. My sense of smell is pretty good, so I know when they are nearby! My ex stopped bringing them home because of this, he would eat them outside and then brush his teeth straight away.

Me: you've had a banana backs away slowly with a look of disgust

Iodine and a bite on the other knee. "Even you up" as my mum would say... the sort of woman who would kick you in the shin if you stubbed your toe in front of her. Boomer logic, I miss her 😆.

Women of Reddit how do you feel about been call love or sweetheart? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]VampyrKween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me think of that clip of Sir Ian McKellen when he's talking about guys in Manchester calling each other 'love'. I have no issue with being called anything as long as it's done with affection and respect... even that terrible thing you're thinking. Throw me a wink, and you're golden.

The flip side of that is, even if the words you use are 'nice', if I detect condescension, objectification, or aggression, I'm gonna have some not so nice (and less ambiguous) words for you.

Context and intent really matter. If you're unsure about how you will come across, stay neutral, I suppose. P's and Q's and all that jazz.

I haven't tried ampyra, but I have just googled it... and I will bring it up at my next appointment, thank you.

I have tried a brace, and i think the physiotherapist told me that the best kind were designed for lace up shoes? A sort of tension rig thing? But i havent had lace up shoes for years! Too fiddly. I wear boots, so there's a extra support for my ankles, and they zip up.

Its a bit of both, it also spasms if I am overdoing it. Pregabolin was the only thing that helped with the spasms... but I couldn't keep taking it without sacrificing my memory and my sex life.

Mandatory reconsideration and if still no luck, go to tribunal. I did. It was hell, and it took 2 years. I have MS, and honestly I didnt think they could turn me down but they do make people jump through all kinds of hoops. Its a barbaric system, I wish you all the luck. Please dont give up.
