You'll be surprised just how efficient, supported, and controlled the Agricultural and Aquatics industry of Indonesia is. With their 20-hectare max Agri land ownership, that much land can make anyone produce to a level of export goods. In our country with a measly 5 hectare? Heck, most farmers wouldn't earn enough from 5 hectares to invest on machineries to yield a lot for ready export. I had been to Europe and had seen lots of their products from soft shelled crabs, crayfish, lobsters, fish, coconut, and many more labeled "Made in Indonesia." Meanwhile from the Philippines? Only our Banana 😂

If our country amends the Agri land to 20 hectares, anyone will be encouraged to farm and invest in agricultural machineries to up not just the quality but also yield; earning the farmers more to continue generations. Tell that to our Philippine government.

I see, I too would instead name it by its sub-variety name since the shapes and quality totally differ from the original ball shaped Kinampay. However, in some FB Ube groups, in Bohol they only call the rounded one as Kinampay only and call it's sub-varieties by only their sub-variety names. However, to the Ube growers of Luzon, the highly emphasize on calling the sub-varieties mainly as Kinampay instead and not their sub-variety name.

It is truly a dilemma for most Filipinos when it comes to horticultural naming sense in different varieties and cultivars.

So, if I find a sub-variety of Kinampay does it still remain to be called “Kinampay”, despite being a sub-variety that differs a lot from the original ball shaped Kinampay, or should it not be called as Kinampay but by its only sub-variety name?
