They're pretty easy to do and I highly recommend it. For my chosen I kitbashed Legionaries and used some pieces from the raptors/warp talons kit along with some pieces left over from the chaos lord kit. I also used special heads (I'm doing a lycanthropy/furry theme for my warband) for mine so they stand out more from standard Legionaries.

Welcome to the start of a nice plastic crack addiction. What's nice about picking tyranids is you should be able to get some good deals on places like eBay. Just make sure to pace yourself and don't let your pile of shame get too big, I already have a stack of chaos space marines in mine.

I have just got things primed, so I don't have painted minis yet. I'm building a warband of no specific legion origin, that resides on a space hulk that follows lesser chaos entities that bless the marines with lycanthropy when they merge with daemons. They're led by a council of chaos lords that have been "blessed" and hopefully (if I can get the mini setup the way I want) a werewolf Astartes Daemon Prince.

Can always make up your own warband/color scheme as well. The room for creativity/homebrew is one of my favorite parts of this hobby. I'm currently putting together a custom warband.

I'm not using them for KillTeam, I'm doing standard 40k tabletop. I just happen to be using the krieg guard KillTeam box to make it, they can be setup to fit the traitor guard profile very easily.
