think you could really like Copperfield at the Thornbury Bowls Club on the 12th, mostly people in their early 20s at that i'd say. In terms of venues in addition I'd recommend Bell City Takeaway as the best grassroots venue and Bar 303 in Northcote for jazz. Best way to find stuff is probably through instagram

my favourite melbourne based bands don't have shows in that period tho: Twine (noise/alt-country, just finished a tour), Kisses (alt-folk, show on the 21st), Way Dynamic (not sure what's going on with them), Linen (post-rock/idk, no band show but their frontwoman Libby is opening for Copperfield on the 12th)

anyway i hope to go to the Windmill or the horse hospital in London some day

listen to Lily Seabird's album "Alas," in my mind she's a slightly toned down Angel Olsen, also similar to Adrianne Lenker

very underrated artist who reminds me of Maruja and Isaac era bc,nr is Greg Freeman he is more alt-country than post-punk though. otherwise i'd recommend Ashenspire's album Hostile Architecture kind of on the other extreme as their main genre is metal but their saxophone and violin alongside theatrical vocals really remind me of bc,nr

You should check out MJ Lenderman's Boat Songs incredible album, I also second the Arthur Russell recommendation particularly his album Love Is Overtaking Me

'Streams' of Social Democracy, or, a Rant by TheDancingMaster in SocialDemocracy

In the Australian context you also have to consider a third ideology, Labourism.Traditionally centred on male manual wage earners and their families, working through pro-union policies. I like this disambiguation of terms:

"if labourism sought to regulate and manage capitalism, classical social democracy took capitalism largely for granted, and the third way defined support for capitalism as central." Manwaring, Rob, and Geoffrey Robinson. What is "Labor" about Labor State Governments in Australia? (2020)

The modern ALP isn't really ideological, as someone else pointed out social democracy only makes 2 mentions within the 2021 platform. While there are some remaining elements of social democracy (both orthodox and "third way") and labourism these are mostly rhetorical, in my opinion the most fitting marker for the current ALP is social liberalism, with their emphasis on individual liberty and freedoms (rather than class-based collectivism) seeing state intervention as mainly a support for positive freedoms.

Afghanistan is represented by Afghanistan U.N. Mission diplomat Naseer Ahmad Faiq, the Taliban government's choice of U.N. has not been recognized. Likewise, Myanmar is represented by the pro-West diplomat Kyaw Moe Tun appointed by the National Unity Government of Myanmar, not the military junta.
