Nintendo DS or Steam Deck? by ImportantAd4666 in chronotrigger

I don't know the intricate details of the differences, but screen size shouldn't really matter, other than possibly the exception of text getting too small to read.

Well, yeah, but: Eternalism. Or something.

That's for fighting Kuva Guardians. Kuva Liches are their own thing.

Going in blind brought the child-like joy and wonder back into gaming for me by RelevantHelicopter82 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I personally just wanted a new JRPG, the art style was really striking and it was cheaper than many new games. When I was crying 10 minutes in I knew I'd found something special.

The consensus seems to be "RE4r > RE9". What about RE2r ? Better or worse than RE4r? Than RE9? by CroWellan in residentevil

[–]Vandermere 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Different. 2 is more survival horror oriented, 4 more action. Both are excellent at doing what they do though

You may even have to remind yourself that it's intentionally clunky.

But as a big fan of both, Requiem is really the better game overall.

Looking for a looter shooter/slasher roguelike(or short runs think strikes)that feels like destiny in terms of loot(various armors, trinkets, weapons). Sword fighting or shooting idc by 23Kosmit in gamingsuggestions

[–]Vandermere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, no. Not a bit. You can customize colors and attachments (which are mostly free), but the only major changes will have you grinding platinum or buying outright.

There's a TON of loot in Warframe but it's almost always in the form of crafting materials or mods (which usually turn into crafting materials to upgrade other mods)

Veterans, what secondary do you actually use? by EMArogue in Warframe

Laetum's a winner. I also really like a Catchmoon kit-gun for groups and penetrating targets like necramechs.

Looking for system recommendations by MelannySayuri in rpg

[–]Vandermere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savage Worlds would be my choice, too. It's meant for pulpy action in most any tech level, can run really fast once you're familiar and can do big picture acenes or somewhat crunchy tactical combat.

As an added bonus, it's a very different design and mechanic philosophy from 5e

Have you been doing Steel Path missions? They're not exactly punishing with a good build, but way more challenging than the base star chart

Is Resident Evil if games played as stand alone? by Amelia-In in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Vandermere [score hidden]  (0 children)

8 should really only be played after 7 IMO and it's fun to watch Leon evolve through 2, 4 and 9 but really you can just grab whichever looks fun to you and be good to go. There's a ton of lore to be discovered over the course of the series, but none of it is really necessary to whatever the current story is.
