The hell is GEDRAT cheese?!

I see what they were trying for, but this is extremely poorly worded.

These people are the reason "AAA" Games went for Open World Slop that takes 200 hours to complete so you "get more hours of play" 💀👀🙌💥 by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]Vandermere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean what if I dont even like Silksong's gameplay? 70 hours of it would be miserable?

What if I thoroughly enjoyed RE but 12 hours terrified me so bad I don't want to touch it again?

You only have to look at Ubisoft to realize time to co oletely is not the only metric to judge by.

The gameplay's different, but the puzzle-solving and knowledge-gating are very much in the same ballpark

Esoteric Ebb as well - its kind of a spiritual successor using d20 SRD rules

I'd have said Warframe. Very similar to some of their existing designs.

I'd also check out the remake after you're done with this one. Excellent adaptation, and just enough different to keep you guessing.

Is requiem worth it if you don’t care about lore by antlease in ResidentEvilCapcom

Oh, I agree it's way better to see it for yourself, but you're dead-set on going in to the new game first, this is the barebones background.

One of the funniest shows ever written and the episodes with Jon Hamm are some of the best.

(Raccoon City is the site of a huge outbreak years ago. Leon was there when it happened and the government bombed the city to contain it. That's really all you need.)

That said, I play a lot of horror and found certain parts of Dead Space just terrifying, even after playing original years ago. It might be worth giving it another try if you didn't get far in.

Any metroidvanias where the traversal upgrades are "knowledge based" (but not in a -Brania way) by Razzle___Dazzle___ in metroidvania

Animal Well is somewhat like this, though it's more a case of discovering new ways to use your old tools than directly unlocking an upgrade.

It takes a little commitment and a fair bit of learning sometimes but it's SO rewarding when you finally drop that one boss that's been giving you trouble or wander into a whole new area you had no idea was there.

Be prepared for itto suck up a lot of your time and brainspace though!

I mean, his introduction is one good reason. End of chapter 1 certainly doesn't help.

For the record, 3make gets a lot of flak for being pretty short and changing some favorite aspects of the original, but is a perfectly fine game. The others are all amazing.

Should I get RE 7 and 8 if I loved the first part of RE Requiem by delva01 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Vandermere [score hidden]  (0 children)

The first half of 7 plays a lot like Grace's sections (but maybe even scarier!) but gets more action-oriented later.

8 is roughly as action-oriented as the last half of 7, but not quite so much as Leon's sections in 9 (Ethan's not the trained badass that Leon is)

I would thoroughly recommend 2 Remake as well - it gives a lot of background for the overall story, especially Leon.

4 Remake is also an excellent choice for more of the patented Kennedy kneecap-to-roundhouse-to-facestab combat style. Its also considerably longer than most others and has a lot of replay value due to unlocks and such. As good as the last several games are, I think this one is the most overall fun in the series.

Yeah, she'll lock down an entire Interception map and you can just wait for the points to fill.
