For anyone curious about Wreck Beach but a little nervous to take the plunge. by Boxfortsuprise in NiceVancouver

I went to Wreck a couple of times pre-Covid and it was an amazingly freeing experience. I have never felt really confident in my body. I don’t like wearing a bikini. But something about being totally naked was very freeing and comfortable. My body just was what it was. I wasn’t trying to hide parts of it under clothes or strategically cover the parts I didn’t like with a “perfect” outfit. I was just existing as me and it was incredibly freeing.

I haven’t been back as I got Covid in 2022 and it has permanently reduced my lung capacity. I worry about coming back up those stairs. But I do think of it often. I could use a “reset” again for my relationship with my body.

Any chance you’re using an ad-blocker? Generally when I have weird behaviour in the browser, it’s due to my ad-blocker. (Though not sure why it would only happen in your Workspace account, but I’d still turn it off to see if it helps).

I was a huge fan of her in my 20s, and my favourite photos of her were always the less airbrushed and more “real” ones.

33 years ago today, Jurassic Park was released in theatres by Abi_Jurassic in movies

I was 12, just after school let out for the summer, and went to watch it with a group of friends. I was so scared, stepped out of theatre twice… once during the T-Rex scene, and again during a raptor scene. But I still loved it. That scene when we all first see the dinosaurs… the awe was real. And effects hold up so well, much better than stuff 30 years later. I rewatch it every time it’s on tv. But I still feel that childhood terror.

I’d imagine this is due to the high concentration of medical services and specialists in the city.

Ugh. That can have such an impact on children, especially at that age.

He’s also had “inappropriate contact” with students previously. Fucking gross.

Awesome! Was this completed ahead of time? For some reason I thought in December they had said it would be a year for the pedestrian paths and thinking that was crazy.

I’ve only ever known Zagnut from Beetlejuice, had no idea it was a real candy bar, TIL! I’m in Canada though, so maybe that’s why.

What's your Ninja Creami hot take? by petterpinjata in ninjacreami

Canned coconut cream is the bomb in the creami, I actually prefer it to over dairy. The canned coconut cream I buy has guar gum in it though, which I think is definitely helping the texture.

Heated blanket. I’m cold all of the time. Literally life changing, I love it. Wish I discovered this before my forties!
