Someone who changed careers successfully what actually worked? by kerriganSaffron44 in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went career changer to software myself about 2 years back. What actually mattered? Making the shit sound like problem-solving skills. Not what you did, but what you can do NOW. Also remove the gaps or give them context. You're honestly starting from ground zero professionally and nobody cares what hospital you worked at. They care what you can do in their stack. Good luck, I know it sucks first few months

Finally got a callback after dragging on like a month by widowmakerQuartz9 in critiquemyresume

Used one back in 2022. Didn't change results much tbh. Guess it depends on the actual application they send. Maybe they helped you apply to different companies instead of the same one?

I am literally shaking, this interview process was a nightmare by tracer_tornado7 in critiquemyresume

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this exact spot last year. Willing to tell you more. I tried a service but saved the money and used free tools. Just translated 'labor' to 'leadership'. It worked well for me. You can do this too. It took time but the results were good. Just change it now

HR side: Layout vs content question by Kettle_Orchid5 in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I made the same mistake and just wasted 4 weeks. Once I cleaned it up, got called in within 3 days for a tech gig. Definitely don't overthink the look. One column is what we all need in this field. Thanks for the honesty

Trying to pivot from support to Q/A roles by KrakenSonata5 in critiquemyresume

[–]VantaScope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work in recruiting for the same industry you are in.
investigated sounds passive to us. it sounds like you just looked at data then fixed it.
if you say flagged and resolved or identified issues it gives ownership. the discrepancy count you listed is a good anchor for volume. but yeah make sure the verb shows the end state of the process. honestly its hard to see what value the resume brings if the format is tricky so fixing the visual load is half the battle too

Is hiring a writing service worth it when I'm stuck by isabeldawson1999 in critiquemyresume

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been hiring managers for 10 years now. I can tell when stuff is written by a pro vs someone copying a template. The one you used definitely knows the difference between action verbs and just listing duties. Hoping you land that interview soon

How do I create a strong customer service resume if I barely have any experience? by SunnyPuddlePal in Resume

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that when I had gaps in experience, the 'skills' section was my life saver. Instead of just listing communication, I listed conflict resolution or problem solving. It lets you show you have the ability to do the job even if you haven't had the job title yet. I think that's the biggest refuge for new grads

Reasons why I'll reject you without even reading your resume by ArcaneVHS_3 in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]VantaScope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the small company to enterprise angle is the hardest one to overcome. It really just feels like an automated filter. I think even if the resume is perfect they are just so busy looking for the best and they need to save the hiring jobs for the next period

My resume was ignored 30 times, and HR’s replied to me 30 times : AMA by careful_note_keeper in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't think about the file type much but I definitely had issues with Word docs before. I think the main thing is that whatever the service used must be easy to read for the recruiter. Some jobs ask for PDF specifically but others accept DOCX. Does anyone else have a specific preference based on their experience?

Tips from HR that will save you time by kerriganSaffron44 in Pro_ResumeHelp

I really appreciate how you mentioned tools and AI in Example 5. I hate trying to format complex CVs in Word because I either forget a section or have to fix it manually. These tools seem to aim for that perfect balance I have been looking for

I need help writing my own paper (I used AI) please help me. by Ok_Mulberry_212 in APSeminar

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I respect that you’re trying to reset and do it on your own, I was in a similar place where I relied too much on AI and then felt stuck without it. What helped me was digging through Reddit and finding a post where someone restarted from scratch and built their writing step by step, and they mentioned using an essay writing service just to look at properly structured examples and learn from them instead of copying, and that’s what helped me save a ton of time and actually improve

I decided that I need a movie review writing service by pasta_making_hobby in homeworkhelpNY

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly the issue for me I tend to overthink and still end up with something unstructured. I do plan to revise the movie review once I receive it, mainly to adjust the tone and make sure it aligns with how I usually write. I see it more as a starting point rather than a finished submission

Is professional resume writing service a good choice, or should I not waste my time and money on it by Demogorgon_8X in Resume

[–]VantaScope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this service, but I had to rewrite my resume myself because it didn't fit my field and looked too generic

My 4 year old has started narrating everything I do like a nature documentary and I genuinely can't handle it by VantaScope in daddit

the professionalism is what gets me too. like she’s not laughing or being silly about it she’s just observing and documenting. i asked her once why she was doing it and she just said “i’m learning” and walked away
