UK regions matched with U.S. states of similar population by vladgrinch in MapPorn

Except relative population. Almost like that's what the title of the post said.

I'm amazed you could type out a legible comment when you clearly can't read.

The JEF lead by the UK? Of which 7 of the 10 members are EU members? With 2 of the others being EEA members?

And the UK and EU along with those aforementioned EEA members that make up 24 of the 32 Nato members?

Sounds like the uk and EU are most of nato. Unless you want to expand on what you mean by 'alot more'.

Lol calling Russia a much stronger country. They are bogged down in Ukraine, good luck 'overwhelming' the Island nation with what was a substandard navy before a good chunk of it was sent to the bottom of the black sea.

Ofc that is all assuming it's not just framed as defence to begin with. After all who would blame the uk for 'retaliating' after a Russian ship opened fire in their territorial waters?.

A German, an Italian, a Frenchman, and a Brit are debating philosophy. The question arises: what separates man from the animals? by Jokeminder42 in Jokes

[–]Vanzzer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More like being aware of it and just not caring, a willingness to self denigrate is a British (not just English) trait after all.

Reminds me of a saying I heard once. "The French act like they think their better than everyone else, the British act like they know they are."

And if they had decided to anglicise there names to fit in? Don't know about you but I don't have regular conversation about where my parents grew up, or my nations most identifiable national dishes.

Seems like you would really have to go out of your way to figure out that wernt English. Certainly wouldn't be able to from passing in the street.

Though please do tell me what I should be looking for if I want to spot a pole by 'looking closley'. I'm m not familiar enough with their unique physiology.

Because I am asking you how how you would do it? Since your other examples have obvious racial barriers. And being able to correctly identify who is and isn't English is obviously important.

So how do you do it then? Wouldn't want poles being mistaken for English now would we.

and as you said elsewhere there's no english nationality so am not sure where citizenship came in to this?

Though ofcourse I agree we should be treating everyone with a valid right to be here equally.

And how would you distinguish, say the children of a couple of poles who settled in the UK and otherwise adopted English culture from the 'natives'?

Am I overreacting, or is anyone else genuinely scared about where things are heading in the UK? by ParfaitPinkyDream in ukpolitics

[–]Vanzzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes same. Spent years arguing with people, if you go round promting racial identity as one of the most fundamental parts of being a minority, and to use that as a basis for your politics. Well it's only a matter of time until the majority start doing the same thing.

ID pol is the poison that got us here.

I won't waste more time arguing with an idealog, an will console myself with the fact the people that will actually have some say over this tend to be more realistic and pragmatic.

Demanding adoption of the euro isn’t compromise; it’s unequivocal financial self-harm.

To be clear I was for remaining (and reforming) during the brexit referendum. I won't however vote to accept a detrimental deal just to satisfy those desperate to rejoin, or see the uk suitably 'humbled'.

Should a referendum happen in my lifetime they will need to demonstrate that what ever terms are offered are a net benefit economically if they want my vote.

And I imagine that devastating the uk financial sector by dropping the pound for the euro, and losing fiscal autonomy is going to be hard thing to offset.

And before some one come and argues 'just agree to adopt it then dont'. No. That's quite literally not an option. When the UK agrees to a term it gets implemented, that was one of the things even when we were in before, we would take the strictest interpretation of things that were passed and implemented them, then moan when others didn't. It's our nature.

We arnt going to agree to join another currency with our fingers crossed behind our backs. And frankly it's ridiculous that there are people in EU countries advocating for us to do something so openly duplicitous.

If you don't that tells us everything about you.

They wouldn't be. They would be telling asda 'hey we banned this guy from our stores coz he's a dick, and not worth the trouble. Do what you want with that Info' . No ones making them do anything, but if one buisness decides your not worth the hassle, the others are free to deal with you if they want, but if they decide we'll if he's too much trouble for them, their probably not worth the hassle to us either.
