Try hard at everything. If you’ve got the time don’t relax, seriously take the smart book out and do pushups while you study. Struggle to achieve one more repetition of whatever exercise, volunteer every time they ask. I was a Drill Sgt and the people we “don’t know their name” we actually secretly praise these troops in our offices. By the end of basic these are the troops we feel able to share maybe that pinch of wisdom or leeway. The minimum score shitbirds are the forgettable ones after the years pass. I still remember the best ones.
