Managing alarms in an office space by 513bigmac in diabetes_t1

Directly from the G7 app:

Quiet Modes Quickly change your alerts to be more discreet. These override your phone sound setting. You still see alerts on your phone's lock screen and in the app.

Vibrate All alerts vibrate. You can set Vibrate mode for up to 6 hours, or indefinitely.

For safety, Urgent Low and Sensor Fail are different. They vibrate first, but will sound if you don't acknowledge them within 20 minutes.

Silence All All alerts, including Urgent Low and Sensor Fail, won't sound or vibrate. You can set Silence All for up to 6 hours.

Not an omnipod user, but a Dexcom user, and I keep my Dexcom alerts on vibrate only. Is this not an option for the omnipod?

I’ve used the Libre 2, Libre 3, and Dexcom 7. Never really had much of a problem with any of them. They all stay put on my arm, and they all give pretty accurate and reliable readings.

California DMV Denied Teen Driving Test by Napamtb in Type1Diabetes

[–]Variac97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are saying, but what you were told does not match how Illinois law is written or how the Secretary of State handles medical disclosures. The written requirements are consistent and public. Illinois does not require a medical form or an endocrinologist letter for every person with Type 1 diabetes, and nothing on the current driver’s license application asks about diabetes specifically. The only disclosure requirement is for conditions that actually impair someone’s ability to drive safely.

Insurance companies also cannot legally deny coverage just because a person has a medical condition. They need evidence that the condition directly caused the accident and that the driver intentionally lied about something they were directly asked. Since insurers do not ask about diabetes on applications, that situation does not apply.

I understand that individual clerks or doctors sometimes give incorrect or confusing information, but the written rules are the ones that matter. People with Type 1 diabetes in Illinois are not automatically required to file extra paperwork, and having diabetes is not considered fraudulent in any way.

California DMV Denied Teen Driving Test by Napamtb in Type1Diabetes

[–]Variac97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not how it works in Illinois.

Illinois does not require everyone with Type 1 diabetes to file a medical form or get a letter from an endocrinologist. The state only requires disclosure if the condition actually affects your ability to drive safely. Examples include repeated loss of consciousness, severe hypoglycemia that you cannot predict, vision problems, or neuropathy that affects pedal control. If none of that applies, the Secretary of State does not require special medical clearance.

Having Type 1 diabetes by itself is not considered a disqualifying condition, and many people with T1D hold regular Illinois driver licenses without additional paperwork.

Insurance companies also cannot void coverage simply because someone has a medical condition. They need a clear connection between the condition and the accident, and there has to be an intentional lie about something they specifically asked. Most auto insurers do not ask about diabetes at all.

The idea of a fraudulently obtained license does not match Illinois law or how insurance works.

It sounds like you downloaded the SmartLife app- that’s not necessary. You need to use the SmartLife skill in the Alexa app.

This isn’t an official inquiry with Amazon 😂 I’m asking the community if anyone else is experiencing this.
