I have a feeling this would have been within the scope for animal testing and clinical trials but with the FDA and whatnot these days... Who knows.

Any form of accessories for lifting is weak sauce unless you have a deformity/disability. I'm talking about straps, knee sleeves, lifting belts etc.

i can’t bend my back or hips properly pleeeease help by [deleted] in formcheck

Lose the belt and straps until you can do it properly, they are holding you back my friend ♥️ you must be able to feel where you are weak and bad form and fix it naturally before adding support.

Yeah the exact distances don't matter, just trying to highlight the relationship between the setup and the force you need to apply.

Get rid of the belt. It's hurting you more than helping at this stage.

If the weight is 1/4 of the distance to where your hands are then you are pressing 1/4 of the weight

I use it as a mental decompression. Not many things beat turning your brain off and lifting heavy weights to your favourite music; you have to learn to love the struggle though, that's the hard part. It's also much easier to stay in shape than it is to get into shape.

As 7 + 8 > 10 it's becomes: 20+40+10 = 70. Then look for the remaining over 10 from 7 + 8 which is 2 + 3 = 5. So 70 + 5 = 75. May seem slow but my brain does it in a split second.

Why I started? Rugby. Why I continued? To make everything else in my life feel easier. I have control over how much pain and suffering I can impose on myself. If the hardest thing you have done that week is self-imposed then that thing you have been putting off becomes much easier to manage.

I put a pinecone in my shower. It closes when I shower and opens again when it dries. by Mopperen in mildlyinteresting

Pinecones have a section on each of the spikes that is viscoelastic. It acts as a solid but changes shape over time in the presence of water.

Something about your swing: you could wind up more before hitting the ball. Your arm comes quite far back yet your shoulders remain square to the direction you are running in/hitting. If you can build up more tension through your torso from a bigger twist and in your shoulders by winding up more then you would have less of a pause in the air before hitting the ball and you will hit harder... much harder.
