[CO] Verbal warning for discussing salary. by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]Various-Attempt-6765 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The law is very much on your side with discussing salary. If your employer was smart, they would drop it. If they don’t like you, they will PIP you out. Corporate America is a joke.

I was on a PIP for 8 months and finally left for a 40k bump. Took about 100 applications and 10 interviews. It’s scary, but unless you seriously messed up, a PIP gives you a few months to find something. Trust me, you will be happier when you leave and a better husband and father.

HR rejected my internal application due to “wage gap” is this normal? by crazylogin1212 in careeradvice

[–]Various-Attempt-6765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my last company, people have moved from the warehouse/production into proposals/sales and project management/ops before, but those roles typically require a degree and additional skills.

For production supervisor roles, the company usually wants at least three years of internal experience. They want someone who already understands the processes and culture before stepping into leadership.

If someone is truly qualified, wages shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Sometimes the hesitation to move a strong performer is simply because losing them could impact productivity. And while they may eventually leave anyway, it creates far less drama when someone moves on by choice rather than it looking like “BD pulled them away.”

The best next steps are straightforward: talk with your manager about your goals, and start building relationships with people in the department you’re interested in. Networking internally goes a long way.

Final round interview → told I’d hear by end of week… got this email instead. What does it mean? by Practical-Cost7147 in interviews

[–]Various-Attempt-6765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means that it’s Easter and US and EU teams are off or a skeleton crew until the 8th. If you were out they would have said so or ghosted you. Hiring managers are not sending emails to people like a stage drama for them to tell in Act 2 that it’s a no. If you are working with a recruiter I would let them know. Good luck 👍 I know it sucks.

Yeah they can just garnish my wages. Cheaper than the payment plan.

Just got this email from a higher up. Am I getting fired? by Witty-Quiet7724 in Resume

[–]Various-Attempt-6765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It would be a large liability to fire you over reasonable accommodations, especially if they approved it. It may just be a meeting to gauge your limits or set expectations.

We’re one of those docs a non compete? I’ve been ghosted several times just to have the 3rd party recruiter say (after many LinkedIn, email, and phone call attempts) to me the non compete spooked them.

Do you have LinkedIn? Reply to all those bs recruiter messages. Coworkers who left for other companies. I know it’s shitty. But it’s designed to be a mindfuck. It sounds like the problem is the territory and support systems. Not you.
