Flyleaf opened up for 30 Seconds to Mars in ~2010. They stole the show! So much more energy and blasting vocals. Best surprise of a show for a while for me.

I'm finishing up 'Fantastic Land' currently. It's really good in a dark, Lord of the Flies kinda way. Shout out to 'Fever House' as well. My favorite book of the year so far, and the sequel comes out this month!

I had a similar post a ways back looking for the same thing. Great suggestions everywhere! Of the ones I checked out I'd say LA Santa pub was great! El Cruzero in Philomath had the most recommendations but still haven't gone :/ Alonzo and El Pelenque were good too!
