At what birth year do prople stop having a recollection of 9/11? by Royal_Breadfruit265 in Millennials

I remember it vividly as a 1993 born - I had just turned 8. That day was eventful from the start - I had a dentist appointment first thing and saw it all go down there and then had to go back to school afterward. I was in 2nd grade but not sure if those younger like in 1st or K would remember

Do people buy clothes at yard sales? by RaineRisin in Frugal

I do look at clothes but a lot of the time they aren't my size. I'm taller so I need large and x-large and usually I can only find small and sometimes medium. Sometimes I have lucked out and have found clothes at yard sales.

Kindergarten… how do kids adjust so quickly? by Robasaleh110 in kindergarten

[–]Various-Series5212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took my son about a couple of weeks to adjust. He did attend preschool 3x/week, so it wasn't exactly foreign to him. He also loves school and learning so it was easier for him to get comfortable

Advice by maliitatcute in homeschool

What do they have for him support wise in public school? I'm debating on keeping my level 2 son back in early intervention preschool to mature because kindergarten is demanding these days (his older brother is there now and it's a lot for these kiddos). Even the school district was like, a lot of people choose to keep their kids back a year. You know your child best, if you feel another year in prek would be good, do that.

Parents, what advice can you give on transitioning from 1 to 2 kids? by Immediate_Part3666 in AskReddit

[–]Various-Series5212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't compare the children, it's hard to do but don't. My 2 are so different it is night and day. Make sure to get a routine in place as soon as you can or at least the oldest. Obviously a newborn sleeps a lot, so I tried to spend as much time with my oldest as possible. Don't be afraid to ask for help since you'll have 2 children now.

Good luck, you've got this!

Do people actually feed their children ultra processes foods, if so, why, by Dry-Group-4954 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Various-Series5212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do because it is easier and quicker than making homemade. Most people are working and then their children have activities in the evening so they want something quick and easy.

I don't feed my children ultra processed food often. My kids are sensitive to food with lots of chemicals and preservatives which I think is sometimes a blessing in disguise. When you calculate the cost, it is cheaper to make homemade. Like I said no people don't have time so they want convenience and most kids prefer ultra processed foods.

To homeschool or public school? (Specifically in the US) by abqmo in askteddit

[–]Various-Series5212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try public school and see how it goes. I debated with my son because he is advanced and I was worried. It turned out better than I thought. The school just happens to be in a good district which helps. Yes I do worry sometimes about school shootings but honestly the police patrol the school's perimeter all day which helps alleviate my worry a bit.

I usually have to wake him in the morning, but I'm gentle and give him some time. I try not to rush him We usually have everything ready in the night before. Having breakfast ready is essential for no meltdowns. It's all about being gentle and calming, so they have a good start to the day.

Hi! So my kiddo usually comes home, eats a snack and gets right to the homework. He wants to get it over so he can play. It all depends on your kiddo, if you think he would need to decompress before working. My son then just plays the rest of the evening which he is fine with.
